The ambiance at Rocoto is absolutely beautiful — elegant, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. It's definitely a lovely place to sit and enjoy a nice evening out. The pisco sours were excellent — well-balanced and refreshing — easily the highlight of our visit.
Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. While our waiter was kind and respectful, the restaurant seemed severely understaffed, which led to very slow service. It took about 20 minutes just to place our drink order and another 40 minutes before we could order food.
The ceviche típico was just okay — nothing particularly memorable — and the maíz de cancha was served without any sauce or accompaniments, which made it feel incomplete.

I moved the onions to see the fish and it was completely uncooked. I was disgusted. I asked to get something else and they said I would have to pay for the tuna because I had “tried it”. All I did was move the onions I never ordered. They then brought some free desert. I got the salmon which was very good and so was the free dessert. But they made us pay for the nasty tuna. Apparently they would have made the waiter pay for it if we had refused. Good...
