Puerto Inka — Restaurant in Medellín

Tourists in Medellín. I went there on a late evening. The waiters were already tired, no smile. We wanted to sit outside since it's humid in Medellin, but the waiter insisted on giving us the seats inside. I guess it's because it's closer to the kitchen. We asked him about the food, he seemed very impatient. One ceviche had too much lemon in it, too sour. The other hot plate was fine. I don't know the general rule in Colombia, I've been told that customers have the option to add tips if wanted. But we were forced to pay as it was already added onto the bill. Anyway, I wouldn't recommand this place....

What a fantastic meal I had here! All the dishes I have tried so far have been a straight up riot of complimentary flavours, they even know how to use smoked paprika and cumin correctly. It was a pleasure to have had such a delicious meal in such beautiful surroundings with attentive staff but it was not without its faults. The vegetable sides are mediocre and an afterthought at best, the asparagus would slip through my fork! However I still recommend this place heartily because the meal itself more than made up for any other...

When we leave we feel somewhat cheated, the total is almost 200k and while the food was very fresh and good the majority of the bill is a sangria that the waiter offer us on arrival. Just say no to anything or ask for the price before accepting any offers. The food is good, the ceviche peruana is fresh and the fish with seven flavors and the risotto are very tasty but they are more asian than peruan.
