SP Sazon Paisa — Restaurant in Medellín

My wife is Colombian (from Pereira) and was on the hunt for a proper Bandeja Paisa. We couldn’t resist the massive “for two” platter they had on the menu, so off we went, and it was absolutely worth it.

The staff was fantastic, kind, welcoming, and attentive. That’s always appreciated, especially when you’re digging into something this hearty.

They had masa morra on the menu, and my wife lit up. It was served exactly how she remembered from over 20 years ago, total childhood nostalgia.

We swapped the blood sausage for extra chicharrón, and it was a perfect call. The chicharrón was crispy and well-cooked, the beans were flavorful, and everything on that oversized platter (literally served on what looked like a medium/large pizza pan) was fresh and high quality.

One standout surprise: the small stuffed arepa tucked onto the plate. It was so good, it guaranteed we’ll be back soon just to order the full-sized version.

If you're looking for an authentic, high-quality Bandeja Paisa, Sazón Paisa is the place to go! I ordered their Mega Bandeja Paisa, and it was absolutely outstanding—generous portions, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. What really stood out was their use of natural, non-synthetic sausages (Morcilla), which made a HUGE difference in taste and quality compared to the artificial fillers used elsewhere.

The meat was tender, the beans were rich and savory, the fried egg was perfectly runny, and the arepa was just the right balance of crispy and soft. Every bite felt like a true taste of Antioquian tradition.

Beyond the food, the service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. If you want a real Bandeja Paisa experience—no shortcuts, no cheap ingredients—this is the spot. 10/10, will be back soon!

Service here sucks, very bad, I ordered polla Alla plancha and they brought everything but the chicken, I waited 30 minutes for the chicken. Then I asked where’s the chicken and they never put the order in for the chicken, just the side dishes. Then they brought the chicken and the side dishes were cold and I asked for fresh ones. And then they said the side dishes were cold because the chicken was cooking 🤦🏻‍♂️ for 30 minutes?! In total I waited an hour for my food to come and all they did was give excuses instead of apologizing for the poor service and forgetting to put in my order. These people are so rude ! Anytime we needed them we had to call them over. Worst service in Colombia. Do not come here .
