Overpriced place. The waiter tried his best to go above and beyond. I felt like he knew what’s going on and what they been doing wrong. I appreciated the empathy tho, he even remade the coffee but honestly… it didn’t get better. They don’t honor the ingredients on the menu. They gave us salchichon instead of bacon. They didn’t even tell you in advance. Eggs too salty. The Chorreado coffee… what can I say? Bill was approx $32 dollars. Too expensive for mediocre coffee and food (1 pinto, 1 eggs with potatoes, 1 side of avocado, 2 chorreados and lil milk). Again, $32 dollars?????? They do use a different technique and the coffee comes out light and weak. Also, not hot enough. Save your money and walk 10 minutes to “Trigo & Miel”. They have the best breakfast in the area. Best quality, best service and the breakfast comes with coffee included. For $16 dollars you will get 2 breakfast with coffee and a flan de coco. With a budget of $32 a couple can eat...
Read moreFirst of all, our waitress was delightful! We were more than happy with her, but unfortunately, that was the only bright spot. The food was average, at best. The fried plantain balls had frozen cheese in the middle. The photos promise an ambiance that reality does not deliver (kudos to the photographer though!). We actually thought we were in the wrong place when we first walked in. During our visit, it appeared that only two people were working, our waitress and one cook. While our waitress was great, she was not able to handle the place by herself. We watched another couple walk in, sit down, then leave ten minutes later when they had not been greeted yet. Our coffee was not delivered until we were done with our meals. There's a lot of potential here, but it just fell short. Honestly, at this point, I'd say skip this place and go to Franco Escalante a block and a half north....
Read moreMy partner and I visited Luz de Luna recently for a late breakfast. We were starved for simple bacon and eggs, not really expecting much. But we were pleasantly surprised at the menu, which had inventive variations on the traditional. The dishes were beautifully presented, and tasted great (the chef has a creative imagination) !
The service was great as well - the server seemed happy we were there, which is not always the case these days. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
The restaurant has huge windows that spill out to the street. It would be a great place to people-watch in the evenings, so a dinner is the next thing on...
