Soooo...... Was out with a friend at another place the previous night having dinner and cocktails, I liked a shirt this guy was wearing ( I would actually rock it). Come to find out its his work shirt! hahahaha so we invited him over for a drink and asked about the shirt! Super kool guy. Come to find out its his work shirt WOW 🤩 nice place to work I thought. He was very friendly and proud of his restaurant which really spiked our attention so the next evening we decided to pay it a visit. OMG it was amazing and sure enough he was working with the same enthusiasm as the previous night where we met him somewhere else when he was off from work. The staff there is amazing and we had the best night ever with everything as he and the establishment lived up to his hype 🙌🏼. The tall guy (alejandro) knew EVERYTHING about the menu with out looking at it (like a computer). The next guy is the THE MAN! and I mean THE MAN!! His name is Josue with his assistant Justin in the red shirt who always made sure we had everything we needed. The point is this restaurant has 💎 diamonds working for them that take pride in there establishment when they are off the clock which says fantastic things about this place as they represent it with passion. I will only eat here when visiting as the food, service, atmosphere was stellar and I have traveled the world so I have met many a people. I call this place home because thats how Josue makes people feel outside and inside of work! Congrats to the management as they have put together a place like no other I have ever experienced on the planet ❤️ Big shout out from the United states to my family at this place. Also I still want that shirt !!!! hahahahaha not sure if I got the names right so I sent a picture and you can point to him if you go. Who knows you will probably see me and my friends there living it up with happy stomachs 😇😇😇 and smiles...
Read moreThis restaurant used to be one of my favorite places to eat at. I used to recommend it to traveling friends and family. That is until today. I went there with my girlfriend. It wasn't busy, and the few tables we sae while entering were already eating. We waited around 40 min for two burgers with fries. It would've been reasonable at a busy hour or day, but not with an under-half-capacity venue on a Tuesday. The food was bland at best. Both burgers were sirloin burgers. The hit the nail on the medium rare (one star earned for that), but it was tasteless. I can't recall the last time I had to ask for extra salt at a restaurant. Here I had to. The avocado was unseasoned. The bread was a bit stale, or at least it tasted like that. I remember their alioli as one of the best I'd ever tasted. Well, today's was kinda like if they took the good alioli and severely watered it down. We asked for ketchup, since the alioli was blander than regular mayo. The waitress did NOT like us commenting on the alioli. Patacones were worst than bagged, snacky ones you can get at any convenience store. It's just nowhere near the quality it used to be, but the prices remain high (~$16 for a burger). I remember my girlfriend and I commenting that we should've gone to McDonald's instead, and gotten a fast, cheaper, and more flavorful bite.
So if you want burgers, definitely AVOID this place like the plague. They seem to be riding a dying wave of...
Read moreGood craft beer on tap and the food is good too (if a bit pricey but still worth it). We live in Costa Rica and really like this place. However, if we could make one suggestion, it would be to be very clear about what you order. Due to some sort of confusion that could have been easily avoided with better communication about what we were ordering and prices, we got the more costly and fancy milkshake instead of the one we were sure we had ordered.
It was good but that's not the point. It was not what we had ordered and we felt like it was upsold without being clear about what we had actually ordered. Unfortunately, this sort of thing of not being clear about pricing, especially when adding on to orders happens with some frequency in Costa Rica (I have lived here for many years and have frequented many restaurants on my own and with tourist groups).
If visiting the Beer Factory (and any other place for that matter), make sure to be very clear about what you order and to know the price beforehand. I know, sounds like common sense but trust me, be careful about that or you will definitely end up feeling like you were taken advantage of at any...
