RBG Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Hospital

For a hotel restaurant, we were surprised at how much we enjoyed our dinner. Traveling with two teenagers, each one found something appealing—a lovely fish and roasted veg option for one, a rather delicious meat-laden pizza for the other. The hubby and I both had drinks (very, very strong!—I didn’t even need the free second margarita they were offering during happy hour), and our entrees were delicious. The only thing I would pass on is dessert-but that’s a theme in Costa Rica with sweets: they always look better than they taste.

After over two hours total waiting. And almost all the food was undercooked, and the staff did not even address the wait until we said something. We had seen some other people send food back a while before we got our food and I am not the type to send food back so I assumed maybe they had very high standards. But this was just unacceptable. Wow. Hard rice, raw meat. It was pretty sad and we still had to pay for things even though we didn’t end up eating. There are so many other businesses to support around...

We stay at the Park Inn and because we were tired from a day of travel, we decided to eat at the RBG Bar and Grill that is in the hotel, despite the mediocre reviews. I had the RBG burger and in my opinion it was excellent. My wife hade the grilled fish... she thought it was very good and tasty. The waiter was very nice and helpful. I guess the only complaint was that the lighting was a little dark, but no deduction for saving...
