The Garden Food & Forest — Restaurant in La Fortuna

We stumbled upon this restaurant on accident. We are so happy we did. They’ve only been open a few weeks. This was the best food we had had as of our sixth day in Costa Rica. The Seabass with chimichurri and plantain was excellent. Some of the best ceviche we have ever had. My husband is vegetarian and thoroughly enjoyed the ceviche made with hearts of palm and tico. We stayed at the hotel for 3 days and ate there breakfast and almost every lunch and dinner. The food was really good and every plate I tried were really delicious and had a nice touch like creative combinations of meat, vegetable and dips. It was also designed well all the time. The prices for the normal dishes are actually quite good for the quality and location, a nice river with ambient soundscape. This was the most amazing dining experience; if there is better in La Fortuna, not sure where it could be. The setting is amazing, our server was the best, and the chef and sous chef were incredible. The good was all prepared fresh, delicately seasoned, and hearty servings. We found this restaurant because we were staying at the Monte Real Hotel, and this restaurant is on the hotel property.
