Empanadas Argentinas "El Buen Gusto" — Restaurant in La Fortuna

Needed a quick bite after a long day hiking but didn't want to eat anything too heavy. I decided to try out a few empanadas and I was so happy that I did. It wasn't crowded since I was coming in very close to closing but they still had several options to choose from. I ordered a spicy chicken and a cheese and spinach empanada. They came with that chimichura sauce as well.

The weather was perfect so I decided to eat in the park nearby. These empanadas were absolutely amazing. You can tell they were freshly made and cooked to perfection. They were not too wet and not too dry. They were just right. The sauce that came with it was perfect as well. I believe they sell it separately and would recommend you give it a try.

The owner is really friendly, has great English and explains each option. Half the options were vegetarian which is unreal. We ate the beans and cheese empanada, pineapple, onions and cheese and then we had the homemade chimichurri (don't skip on this!!). The homemade chimichurri is so delicious. The whole thing is amazing. We ate multiple ones.

I also had a strawberry smoothie which was super refreshing, he asked if I wanted sugar or not, which I was grateful for, as I don't usually want sugar in my fruit smoothies.

YUM! Cute little order at the counter empanadas place right off the main square of town. The person working at the counter was super friendly and helped us decide which to order. There were many different meat and vegetarian options - around 10-12 different kinds to choose from and they come with chimichurri sauce for dipping. The spicy chicken and spinach ricotta were AMAZING. Best empanadas we have EVER had. We were party of 4 and we all loved what we ordered.
