Beach clubs are a thing you just need to throw yourself into. Are they expensive? Yes. Do you feel like a low-rent soap-star whilst reclining on your sweaty sun-lounger? Yes. Are they the same everywhere in the world? Yes...Cannes, Nice, Taormina, Dubrovnik..all the same. So I'd never whine about the price when what you get is part of it all; attentive service, a good beach, chilled out vibes, clean toilets nearby, good food..and the chance to feel like a low-rent soap-star for the day. 😄 Banje Beach is no different, but the service is great. Really friendly people (the same all over Croatia it would seem). It's also the only beach in Dubrovnik and the only place you can sit back, glass in hand and watch the Queen of Dragons lay waste to whatever that fleet she toasted in Season 8 was called.* (*You have to imagine some of this) We had a great day that was no more and no less than we would have spent elsewhere. Loved it.

I wish I could give it 0 stars. Avoid this place at all costs. Ordered two burgers which came to a grand total of €38. Pricey, but the place seemed nice, and so we imagined the food would be too. The burgers came with half of a small slice of pickle, and a tiny piece of bacon (see picture below - I had initially taken this as I simply found it quite funny how stingy they had been!). When I bit into the burger, it was immediately evident that they were terribly poor in quality and raw in the middle. The fries were also cold. After a few bites and left exceptionally disappointed, I left the rest (didn’t touch the chips) and told the waiter I really hadn’t enjoyed the food. My friend also left part of his meal. When the bill arrived, I asked the waiter to speak to a manager - and informed him that we would only like to pay for one meal, as I had not eaten mine and the food was incredibly disappointing. The manager came over after about 15 minutes and initially offered us a 10 per cent discount. We politely declined, and said we did not feel as though we should pay for the second meal that wasn’t eaten. The manager then turned immediately aggressive, and now demanded that we pay the full amount and even protested that I had eaten the food. He then escalated the situation by saying he was phoning the police should we not settle the full amount. We again offered to pay the €19, which we had on the table in cash. He then told me to leave if I wished, to which we stood up and in response he snatched my bag. Other waiters rushed in and grabbed me by the arms so I could not leave. I honestly couldn’t believe what was happening and how we were being treated! One of the waiters then snatched my friend’s phone from the table and walked off with it. The manager then called someone to come in (a approximately 6”5 stocky man) utilised as a clear form of intimidation, who again insisted we paid the amount. With reluctance, and with my friend’s phone in their possession, as well as the threat of violence imposed, we paid the full amount. The waiters came over with smirks on their faces and sarcastically thanked us for coming in, helpfully noting “how easy was that”, before thankfully handing back my friend’s phone. An utterly embarrassing institution. Do not visit!

Went twice - once for lunch, once for dinner. Food is ok (decent, but nothing to shout about) - dinner (had the octopus salad, adriatic squid and adriatic prawns) was better than lunch (had a banje beach burger and mussels - didn't like the burger too much). Service was, however, 'below average', shall we say. For lunch, I was told I had to 'find the waiter that served you'. For dinner, I wasn't given the standard serving of bread, and was told I had to 'inform the waiter beforehand if I had a Dubrovnik card' (which, by the way, would give you a 10% discount). I obviously told the chap that it should be a standard practice to ask if customers had any discount card (this is a standard practice for panaroma restaurant and dubravka 1836 restaurant and cafe), to which he replied 'not many people use the card'. Wow. Right. Had to argue with that kind of logic.

We had a nice dinner here on a Wednesday evening. They have a different dinner menu than the lunch menu they displayed at their entrance, but they accommodated the risotto plate that my wife wanted. I had a steak with truffle mashed potatoes, and we also shared the tuna tartar for a starter. All the food was great. We had initially asked for the oysters but they said they preferred not to serve them because they were not caught fresh that day, we appreciated the honesty. Starter + two main dishes + two cocktails for $90, we felt it was a reasonable price for the upscale dining experience. It rained lightly for a bit during our dinner and the waiters graciously offered to move us inside, but we didn't mind and stayed at our beach front table. It was a nice experience and we would recommend it if you are staying in town.

The restaurant is alright. The menu is quite small to be labeled a restaurant. The selection is similar to cafes around the area. Dining was inside or can be brought to your chairs outside. It’s almost as hot inside as it is outside. The vegetarian (no cheese) pizza we ordered was pretty good. The sauce had flavor to it which was pleasing. The pizza also came out hot hot hot! Temperature wise. We also ordered a mojito which was delicious and a watermelon ice tea which was nice but I wouldn’t order a second time. If drinking and needing food was my situation, I would go back to this restaurant. If I weren’t in dyer need of food, I would not come back to this restaurant.

This place is an extortion! We've been around Europe and the most expensive we paid for 2 sunbeds and one umbrella was 25€, this place charges you 350 kunas or 50€ for the same but the umbrellas are small and the chairs are also not great. The guy who charges you for the stuff is rude. Be aware, they charge different prices for the same stuff, stay away! Advice: Go to the sunset beach, they charge you 120 kunas for one chair and one umbrella, drinks are much more cheaper and there are other bars and restaurants in the area. Get the bus 4 ou 6 at the Pile gate, simple and easy and CHEAPER!!!!
