Not normally one to leave a review but I just had to. We came here for our honeymoon “fancy” dinner and walked away incredibly disappointed.

We decided to go all out and get the seafood platter for two thinking we’d get an array of the best seafood. How wrong we were. The prawns for the most part lacked flavour and weren’t cleaned properly. the mussels while well cooked some were also not cleaned properly. The Sea Bass was pleasant enough but the squid and octopus were largely forgettable. But the worst by far was the the lobster. Given that this was the main attraction and why the price was so expensive we were shocked at how overcooked and bland it was. We took a bite each of it and put it straight to the side. I asked for another (not normally one to complain) and he said that if he brought out another one it would be exactly the same. Clearly they are just precooked and sit there. How can you charge as much as you do and have your lobster precooked. On top of that the sardines were placed right in the middle of everything and their overpowering foul taste and smell permeated throughout everything.

The waiter sort of apologised and offered a piece of tuna to replace the lobster and was ok but the damage was done.

Pretty much ruined our evening and left a really bad taste in our mouths.

The fact that we were pretty much the only people there for dinner should have been a give away.

Do...

Worst service I’ve had anywhere in the world. 2 hrs wait for two omelets and two coffees. I suggest sitting inside to be served more quickly and be prepared to wait. I usually expect to wait longer for service on vacation and in different countries, and we were not in hurry, but this experience was horrible and exceeds any reasonable time frame.

Another table of four were here 15-20 minutes before us, and left after waiting another 20 minutes without even being asked for their orders. They eventually just left. The waiter wouldn’t even acknowledge or look up in the upper deck area. We waited 1 hr before getting our drinks and it took even longer to place an order and we waited another 30 minutes before we received our food. We literally watched the entire restaurant fill and empty before getting service and the staff were unconcerned.

We checked in upon arrival for seating so the restaurant knew we were there. We were patient and waited around half an hour before approaching service staff to ask for menus. No one ever came to take our order. We eventually had to ask a few times to take our order.

Then our food orders were wrong, but we just ate it, and we then had to ask for silverware also. Then once the restaurant was empty at the end of our meal we still had to ask for our check a few times and wait...

We went here for our last dinner in Croatia. After 3 weeks in Croatia we were tired of meat and fish plates. Since reviews were mixed we took a chance that this would be an adequate farewell dinner . We were very happy with our meals. My husband had the steak and I had the lamb. We are both gluten free and they were happy to alter the meals to make them gluten free. Both dishes were outstanding, cooked perfectly and with great flavor (something we found lacking in most meals). They even have a yummy gluten free dessert cake (traditional). After the meal we were provided with a digestive beverage that is made by the restaurant, which was also good. Bonus features include nice view of the harbor and you do not have to go inside the city walls. The meal was reasonably priced as well. Another reviewer noted this as under rated and that is accurate. This was one of the very best meals we had in our Croatia travels. Our server was Alexander and he was...

We found this restaurant at the gourmet festival taking place in Dubrovnik during our stay. The festival menu looked very good so we headed to Gustame on a Sunday night. The quality of service was very good, the waiter was very friendly and gave us some good recommendations about the meals, food and wines. However, we were a little disappointed about the presentation, quality of meals, and freshness or products. The special festival menu for 39€ turned to be very basic, they could have done a better job in serving the meals too - the presentation was lacking a bit of creativity. One out of three mussels on our plate was not even open, the rest was a bit ordinary. Service definitely saved my review, hence 3/5 otherwise I would have left 2/5 given the price. But maybe they will get better in the high season.

Food: The meal and wine were excellent. The fish was very fresh and was perfectly prepared. I would definitely recommend both the Sea Bass and the Tuna tartare. The entree had a larger piece of fish but the amount of side items were light, which contributed to a smaller sized entree overall. Service: Our waiter was friendly and attentive. When we ordered tap water though, he informed us that the water was not safe to drink for foreigners, and that he recommended that we buy their bottled water instead. As we’d seen no advisories on tap water elsewhere in Dubrovnik or Croatia, which we’d been drinking all week, we stayed with the tap water and had no issues with it. Atmosphere: A nice location which was fairly quiet.

Mediterranean restaurant opposite one of the main gates to the Old City. The word Mediterranean is embarrassing. We had to complain about the size of the "Mediterranean Salad" as it was both tiny and expensive (€15). I am Greek and if this salad was offered to anyone in Cyprus at this price and size, they would close down in minutes. Very expensive and just go into the Old City and eat for better and better value, which is crazy bearing in mind everyone says the value is better OUTSIDE of the City Walls. It would have been 1 star but I gave it 2 because of the amazing waiter who replaced the salads with ones resembling main course, rather than a starter!
