UPDATE:

I have to give huge credit to Marko because he truly went above and beyond to make things right. After I shared my feedback, he reached out personally and we had a thoughtful exchange over email. Even though I had already moved on to another country, he offered to ship me a replacement, and actually sent two bags instead of just one. That kind of care and follow-through is rare, and I really appreciated it.

The replacement coffee is excellent. Much more in line with what I was hoping for: lighter, cleaner, and full of flavor.

Beans: Burundi | Gihere Ngozi Brewed using: V60 and Kalita Wave

Disappointed with these beans. As soon as I opened the bag, I could tell they were roasted much darker than expected—closer to full city. For a Burundi origin, I was hoping for more brightness and complexity, but all I could taste was heavy smokiness and char. None of the tasting notes on the bag came through; it felt like they were added without reflecting the actual flavor profile.

If you’re into lighter roasts or origin transparency, this might not be...

I love specialty coffee, and always visit specialty coffee shops when traveling. I had high expectations for Kava2 after reading all the good reviews.

Unfortunately I had one of the worst cafe experiences here. As soon as I entered, I felt an unwelcoming vibe. Not a single staff member smiled when we entered and we felt like we were invisible. The staff did not seem interested in taking orders. When I asked for a decaf menu as my husband is caffeine sensitive, one of the female staff members rolled her eyes and reluctantly said that they have fruit tea. I'm not sure if she was offended that we asked if they have any decaffeinated menu, but her facial expression and tone of voice changed from cold to rude when I asked the question. I have been to many specialty coffee shops and it is normal that they offer inclusive menu.

The waiting time was about 20 mins for an americano and a tea to-go. Coffee tasted OK, nothing too special. Croissant and cookie were OK, nothing out of ordinary.

Don't waste time...

We visited this coffee on a rainy day and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with the service. When we arrived, it seemed like the indoor seating was full, but there were still a few empty chairs. We politely asked a female member if it was possible to sit outside, but her response was unexpectedly rude and unprofessional. Instead of simply saying no, she laughed out loud and said things like, “Where? Where? Will you sit on the sand?” – which felt quite disrespectful.

Her tone and attitude were unnecessary. We told her we would take the coffee to go and waited by the bar. During that time, several tables became available as other customers left but she never offered us a chance to sit down, even though it was clear we were still there.

The coffee itself was good – no complaints about the quality. But the service was honestly quite poor and left us with a...

Great spot for some light roasted specialty coffee. I had their washed Ethiopian as a pour over (V60) and it was delicious.
