Gelato, just like reviews, I take seriously. When traveling I taste 2-3 a day. Emiliana, there are 2 and you must have this one. Not the first one you see from the city center, you walk around it in silence to the one and only one on the outside. Nicely brightly decorated, including chandelier, flavors framed and clearly visible on the back wall. Very nice people who help you. No factory cones, the ice cream waffles are made in-house and rolled into a cone. When you take a cup, you don't get a meaningless factory waffle in your ice cream, but a nice, crispy cookie that is deliberately placed on the side of your ice cream with the name of the gelateria on it. THE ICE CREAM: Here, no balls are scooped with ice cream tongs, but, especially if you take ice cream in a cone, beautiful towers are scooped and turned. My absolute favorite flavors are Lavandula-Limon and Peach-Rose. I also tried 5 other flavors but these 2 stood out for me. Especially on a hot day, one fresh and sour and the other fresh with a sweet touch. Devine combination. If you like pistachio, try the Emiliana. For me, this ice cream was the benchmark for all ice cream parlors in Dubrovnik, Zadar, Sibenik and Split. And none of the ice cream parlors are better. 1 came close, also in Split. This ice cream and that of 3 other ice cream parlors, in Asciano, Sienna and Florence, remain in my memory. And none of these ice cream parlors belong to a chain. All professionals with a passion for gelato. Please go there and taste...
Read moreI can see why this is rated the top Gelateria in Split! It really is iconic. After trying a few others, we decided to see what the hype was about. The gelato is by far the creamiest, richest, most delicious gelato we’ve ever had and they have some amazing flavours! We’ve gone back several times and have tried many of them! The lemon lavender was a delicious surprise and the dark chocolate with flaked sea salt was chefs kiss. The staff are so incredibly friendly and wonderful people all around! They were so kind to our young son and remembered his name when we came around the following day and welcomed him back with a double high-five, big smiles and friendly, genuine greetings. It really made his day 😍 As much as we’d like to try out some other Gelaterias, there’s not much point when we’ve already experienced the best and there’s still some more flavours to try! Its esthetic is gorgeous without being overstated and is really a...
Read moreDon’t mix up with the original Emiliana, which is super tasty, on the other side. Reviewers, be careful you review the right one here!!!
Ice cream here tastes overly sweet and industrial - first time I walked away after trying some flavours and finding nothing to my liking. Was taken there by someone who thought it was the old version. A local took me to the actual one, which is fantastic.
Not saying this place cannot be to your liking (please go here, it keeps the other queue nice and short), nor that the girls working here are in anyway rude or at fault. Please be kind to them. It’s a bit of an unhappy handover situation, where the originals should have been better in their sales contract. But then again, who would be this suspicious…? Definitely not the kind, fun and creative people from the original Emiliana.
Be wary of the reviews that say this is ‘still the best’ or anything indicating towards the...
