Brought my husband here for 3 nights for his birthday, chose the hotel based on the reviews and was not disappointed.|Great location, literally 5 min walk from main streets/square. 10 mins to promenade. |The national theatre is around the corner and beautiful singers performed on the steps each night whilst people sat in the square in front to listen. |The hotel owner and employees are all lovely and super helpful, also helped me arrange cake and champagne for my husband as a surprise. |Breakfast is included and lovely made to order omelettes and continental choices.|Our room was big with comfortable bed, great rain shower, big tv with many English channels and a small fridge. The best part was the amazing aircon !! I didn’t realise how super hot Split would be in August even late evenings, was a struggle sight seeing in the heat so I loved coming back to our room each time.|Enjoyed the bar and sitting outside, prices were very reasonable especially compared to bars literally a street or 2 away in the main centre. I wished the bar opened beyond 10pm as the evening was still lovely and light that time and temperatures started cooling to enjoy. Also shame the restaurant didn’t open evenings as would’ve loved to have ate there too. |Due to central location was noisy one night with people passing by till about 4am but not hotels fault. |Would definitely recommend booking here and would return if visited...
Read moreWhat a super hotel this is. It’s tucked away down a side street, however it is a lovely hotel with a very pleasant garden to the front, with chairs and tables to sit and have a drink or eat breakfast. Breakfast was plentiful and the omelettes were great. Staff were very polite, kind and helpful, offering tips on where to visit and what restaurants to eat at. The rooms were super. Modern and comfortable with great air con. Our bathroom was large and modern with a fantastic walk in powerful shower. The location was perfect - a couple of minutes walk from the Diocletian Palace. Everything was in walking distance, with the marina being only five minutes walk. We loved Split, and would definitely go back. We did a three island half day tour, from Desk 3 at the marina, it was good fun. Word of warning, Split airport is rubbish. Very busy and one place to buy stale sandwiches or cheap burger and chips. Take an amazing focaccia sandwich instead from the many street food shops in Split. We ate at Ciri Biri Bella, Mamas food and drink and both were absolutely delicious. Great seafood or tapas. Must book at Ciri Biri...
Read moreI was left with a feeling of being ripped off after our three-night stay at Hotel Marul. As a family of four, we were crammed in what was the size of a double room and charged 380 euros a night for the privilege. The room was taken up with the double bed and the sofa bed and there was no room to put our luggage. It was so cramped. We were the room directly behind the reception. The air conditioning unit gurgled loudly all night keeping us awake. Breakfast was OK. The staff didn’t let us know we could order speciality coffees and omelettes. We only realised when we saw another group of guests doing it. The only positive was the location, it really is in the heart of Split and the garden setting for breakfast is a mini oasis. But overall, I would not recommend staying here...
