I was very excited to finally try Nook as I have eaten Chef Nino's food before when he worked in the city of Hvar. Everything from the fanciest of food to the most common snacks are mouthwatering when Nino makes them! So, it was exciting to see what he would come up with for his and his partner, Dajana's, restaurant. The food was delicious (as we expected). Though the menu focuses on options for vegetarians and vegans, my meat-eating husband and I really loved our mains of duck and fish & chips. We split the summer rolls as our starter and had Nino-masu (tiramasu) for dessert. You can see pictures of each dish. I was surprised with just how filling the portions were. The garden terrace is beautiful and provided a romantic backdrop for our anniversary dinner. The photos we took together turned out beautifully with all the greenery around. The servers, from those more experienced to the newbies, were all super friendly. I was impressed with just how quickly our food came to us. My husband ordered a coffee thinking he'd have time to drink it slowly before our food came out. But, he barely finished rolling his cigarette and our appetizer was already out. The mains also came quickly. Good thing my husband likes cold coffee as he ended up waiting to drink it with the dessert! The coffee is also excellent according to my very picky (about coffee) husband. What I like about Nook's approach is that they looked at what most restaurants in Croatia have and decided to do things a bit differently to give some newer options. And, what fantastically delicious options they have prepared! Next time I go on Hvar, I will definitely be back at Nook for some more fantastic eats!

The place looks nice and all, but food-wise, it is almost like a scam; we ordered the “Do you Sea” appetizer platter for two people just to have something to nibble on with our expensive and mediocre cocktails. We paid 35€ just for the platter and got enough food to feed a family of cockroaches for a day. The cuts of octopus were so thin you could see through and they were FROZEN SOLID. As in literal ice with no taste. The tuna was also cold and flavorless and the entire thing just looked like some poor man’s sashimi with hipstery garnishes. We got some wasabi mayo with that too, which probably weighted more than all the other food combined. As for the flavor of the rest of the cuts of fish, it was average at best. The server was clearly not enjoying that day at work. That’s fine, I don’t mind that, but others might. If you are looking to actually feed yourself or have an extraterrestrial culinary experience, you shouldn’t go here. Ever.

We stumbled upon this little gem on a brief visit to Stari Grad. First time we had their vegan Beyond Burger, which was really tasty for being completely vegan, and flatbread, which was so so. The drinks (All about the honey) was nice and fresh, though, and the tiramisu was the best we've ever had! It was more chocolaty than usual, but certainly not to its disadvantage.

Second time we stayed for lunch consisting of spicy chicken noodles and cajun shark tacos, with tuna cakes for starter and another tiramisu for dessert. My wife cannot handle too spicy food so we asked of they could amend the spicyness, which they were more than happy to. Also, the 3-course offer of the day actually had fig and apple for dessert, but we asked if it could be replaced, which again they were more than happy to do. All the tuna cakes, chicken and tacos was really nice - tasty and wellmade.

To top it off, the staff was really friendly, professional, and funny. If you are on Hvar, this is really...

Nice atmosphere, good and friendly service, and very good food. Few meat selections though. Definitely geared towards the crunchy crowd and on the more expensive side. They didn't have fish tacos, which 4 out of 8 of us wanted. They didn't have the sushi dinner, which a couple of us wanted. The summer rolls were tasteless and were filled mostly with vermicelli rice noodle. The worst part was that when we went to pay, the waitress told us that since we were in a party greater than six people they automatically add 15% to the total. The waitress claimed she told us this when we reserved, but that is not true. We tried to reserve online and only got a canned response saying to text name, number of people, date and time, which is exactly what we put in the original email, so I had to call. Nothing about +15%. I've only seen this in the US, where they are worried about large parties not tipping. This left a very sour taste in our mouths. We will not...
