Very bad serving. The food was mediocre for the money they charge. And the atmosphere was very very dull

As a group of six, we were looking forward to an enjoyable evening. However, several issues throughout the evening detracted from the overall experience.

1.⁠ ⁠Arrival and Seating

Upon arrival, we were informed that the terrace was fully reserved. We accepted this, though we later noticed that the “reserved” table remained unoccupied for the entire evening. Once seated at a table indoors, we found only four sets of cutlery, glasses, and napkins prepared. We had to collect the missing items from nearby empty tables ourselves, which felt inappropriate and inconvenient.

2.⁠ ⁠Service Experience

The service fell short of what one would expect in a restaurant of your standing. Our waiter attempted to take our order immediately upon seating us, despite not having handed out any menus. We requested a wine list, which was never brought. Additionally, when a child at our table accidentally spilled a glass of water, soaking the table and a chair, we waited approximately 15 minutes before having to actively request assistance. Even then, only the paper cover on the table was replaced, and no further support was offered.

3.⁠ ⁠Food & Timing

Although the menu stated that all dishes were served with potato chips, none were included with our meals. After we inquired, a single small portion of fries was brought for the entire table, which did not match what was advertised or expected. More concerning was the inconsistency in service timing: five of the six meals arrived promptly, while the final dish was delayed by over 30 minutes. By the time it was served, the rest of the table had already finished eating. If a dish requires significantly more preparation time, that should be clearly communicated when the order is taken.

4.⁠ ⁠Final Gesture

At the end of the meal, we were offered a complimentary bowl of watermelon, which contained four small slices—meant for six guests. We appreciated the gesture, but it seemed disproportionate, especially since we observed a table of two receiving an identical portion. This inconsistency gave the impression of carelessness rather than hospitality.

5.⁠ ⁠Atmosphere & Overall Impression

The food was average and did not stand out compared to other restaurants with fewer accolades. Furthermore, the lack of background music resulted in a rather flat and impersonal atmosphere, which diminished the overall dining experience.

I have come here for years, everytime i come to cyprus on holiday, 3 times a year, this resturant was a must, but after today, unfortunately i wont be coming back. The restaurant has windows, and the whole row of tables by the windows were occupied, so i sat outside, to be nearer the sea. I waited and waited 10, 15 minutes, nothing, waiters usually come straight away, but not this time. I finally went to the till arrear where there were 2 waiters, i told them how long i was waiting, and maybe they didnt serve food outside ! He thought for a minute, and said the kitchen is closed and opens at 6.30pm, it was 5. 15pm thereabouts. He turned around, and carried on his business, i wanted to ask him if i could have a beer while i wait, but he didnt turn around, it was like i was invisable from there on...... i just stood there in disbelief I was behind him, surely he new i was still standing there ! Wow I did speak, can i order a beer then, but i guess they were too busy to hear me ! Honestly i was not expecting this, last time i was here, the waiters were polite and lovely. Do i talk to the manager ? I was really expecting him to say, would you like a drink while you wait, or would you like to come back at 6 30pm ?

Looks like i will be having kleftiko in Nicosia instead of Fish at...

It was not the first time our family visited this tavern. This time something went wrong....we were poisoned by apple pie. The worst thing is that I'm pregnant and I got poisoned, my sister couldn't get back to normal for a week, my husband couldn't either. We were ill for almost two weeks, we were treated with medicines by doctors. Think carefully before you go there. We were there on June 9th. At first we thought that we were poisoned by ice cream, which was brought completely melted, we even called them the next day with a request to check the products. We received an answer from them - "well, we have everything fresh!". Later it turned out that it was a pie that only 3 people from the whole family ate, and it was the three of us who were poisoned. On the same day, the waiter brought us a bottle of water opened by someone, but they replaced it when we asked for it. It's terrible that the tavern staff treats its visitors like this and brings dishes that are poisoned, because something could happen to a baby who has not yet been born. We will never go there again. I think the tavern staff violated food...
