I will keep a long story very short.

This restaurant is next to our hotel. My son really wanted to try some sea food, crab specifically.

Service terrible… nothing came at same time. My son’s main meal came 20 mins plus before our starter. Our stater arrived then 2 mins later they brought our steaks as our main.

The mussels were terrible. They then tried to send my steaks (not the wife’s) 2 mins after the arrival of the terrible mussels.

The house red wine tasted like vinegar.

All in all a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend.

It’s a real shame as the place is clearly still a family run restaurant and I wanted it to be a really nice experience for our family.

Unfortunately this was not the case. It ended with a heated debate on how they had saved me money on the (terrible) mussels that the owner encouraged us to order off the specials menu rather than the normal menu. Weirdly he tried to blame my wife.

I gave up. Paid the total bill and walked away.

It looks busy so it must be good.. False. Slow service, a bit put out when we said no reservation but we were seated anyway. Starter platter was something from an elderly home - soft bland meat mushed into balls on a bed of shredded lettuce. Had to smother with dressing to make it taste good. Milkshakes very average, have made better at home with ice cream and milk. Bizzare filter coffee still filtering in the mug? but tasted fine. Chocolate cake was the highlight but hard to go wrong. Speaking to the couple next to us it appeared the opinion was mutual. They'd been let down by lamb kebab on the menu not being served anymore, had curry instead, was OK but there is an Indian next door for curry! Toilets were fine. Fair bit of parking...
