Costas Grill House Taverna — Restaurant in Ayia Napa

Sympathetic Greek tavern, traditionally decorated. Overcrowded with tables, probably in order to achieve as much traffic as possible. The waiters are very confused, nervous, almost unfriendly, which is very strange for Greek taverns! There are too many people in the bar for such a small number of employees, so they cannot devote themselves to the guest. The food is very small for the sake of portions/comparison, we were there before and ate the same grilled food and grilled squid, a glass of white wine and mineral water/at the restaurant/Isaac fish tavern in Ayia Napa/, the squid were incomparably bigger and served brilliantly, and the grill too, price for the same one was 20e smaller for me! We ordered soup for the baby to take away, the waiter said 2 minutes because we were rushing to the hotel because of the baby, we waited with the baby for 2 minutes in front of the bar and when I called my husband to go, regardless of the fact that we didn't get the soup we paid for, the waiter was rude and impolite to me said "why are you talking, the corba is cooking!" and crossed himself !!! Business today is a great art to preserve, it is a traditional long-standing family cafe that the workers will destroy with their behavior! We will never go there again, because for our money we want good food and service and to feel comfortable on vacation! You will be fooled at first sight by the atmosphere full of pub music...but you may be very disappointed!...

I normally don’t review places I visit but, I feel obliged to review this place to make aware some people that are thinking of visiting. At first I have to say that the restaurant itself looks very nice and very authentic Greek design which actually makes you walk in. Unfortunately that is the only thing is nice. We ordered Greek feta in the oven who was on the menu and described as ( bougourdi ). Feta with tomato and graviera cheese. Maybe they forgot to put the Feta cheese in it 😟. It was only tomato and lots of onions in a ceramic pot with some evidence of graviera cheese. DISAPPOINTING Then we had Lamb kleftiko and Stuffed Pepper and Tomato . Lamb kleftiko wasn’t nothing to lamb kleftiko. It was lamb in the oven and some roasted potatoes which were cooked separately to the lamb. I strongly advise the owners to search and see what lamb kleftiko is. Taste I can say medium. But what really make us disappointed and possibly discuss is the stuffed peppers and tomato. It was a baby pepper and a baby tomato stuffed with just rice that tasted really bad, like it was cooked days before and had a strange taste as it was of dated. They had put also stuffed wine leaves as part of the stuffed. No meat in the rice at all . When spoke to someone responsible for the restaurant, his situation handling is out of this world . Unfortunately, I have to share a very disappointing experience at this venue. I was there with friends and several unpleasant situations completely ruined our evening.

My friend ordered a strawberry mojito, which tasted extremely artificial and was honestly undrinkable. When she politely asked if it could be exchanged, she was given the exact same drink, just watered down – with no apology or real effort to fix the issue than after second intervention she got the beer.

Things got even worse when she asked the bartender (the same one who made the drink) where the restroom was. His response was sarcastic and unhelpful – he told her to “go out of the restaurant and turn left,” in a tone that was clearly mocking rather than informative. It was rude and completely unprofessional.

To top it all off, the salad we ordered was also a disappointment – the lettuce was clearly not fresh, with wilted and browning leaves, and had an unpleasant, sour taste. It should never have been served in that condition.

We also had to wait an unusually long time for the bill, despite the place not being particularly busy. We felt ignored and unwelcome, as if we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers.

We won’t be coming back, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place – poor quality food and drinks, and unacceptable...
