Live music was good but the type of service we were treated with ruined the experience completely. as the waiters started breaking plates (as tradition of the restaurant) people got up and started dancing in the center of the place. there was a waiter who kept screaming at me and my group to go back to our table because this was inconvenient for him. he started using his hands to push us to the side. we made sure the person in charge was aware of this issue and that it would be addressed. later on we got up to dance to another song and the same waiter came and started screaming in our faces again telling us to move, even though a large amount of people were all standing up and dancing (we were told dancing was fine in the given area). we let that moment slide until he came for a third time and started screaming in my face because i was holding my phone while dancing. he said that i was not to use my phone while standing here. i reply and tell him to calm down and talk to me politely and he responds by pushing me to the side. my uncle saw this incident and came to help me. he stood in front of the waiter to make sure he would back away from me and the rest of the group. not only did the other waiters not interfere to help the situation but 4 or 5 of them started pushing and shoving my uncle. this restaurant is known for its vibes, live music, and dancing. if the people hired cannot accept that then they should not be hired in the first place. this behavior is unacceptable and i do not believe that anyone should ever be put in the same situation me and my family were put through when going to...
Read moreFrom the service to the food the experience is horrible. We ordered stifado and moussaka. However, the only thing that arrived that has anything to do with food is the appearance. Stifado is too sweet and greasy, the meat loses all flavor besides fat and sweetness. The second course of moussaka was full of cinnamon. The chefs overdid the cinnamon in the masa, because you don't feel the potatoes, nor any other ingredient in the dish. Service that visibly artificially smiles when you address them, while when you draw their attention to the food, they blame other waiters... They also ignored the guests next to them and did not pay attention to them. When the waiter who was responsible came, he said that he eats such moussaka every day and that it is normal. Which is actually not true. We have eaten moussaka and stifado in other restaurants and we know very well what it should taste like. When we convinced him to return the food we asked to get the same stifado to check if the same one would arrive and it did. Prepared literally in 3/5 minutes, the taste is also terrible. the only more positive rating, in contrast to the food and service, but not for praise, is the music that was responsible for the atmosphere. On top of all that after asking for the bill it showed the price of moussaka which is more expensive than stifada and was not reversed. I hope that people do not have such unpleasant experiences as we did, and my recommendation is to definitely stop by...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of dining at AYIANPITIKA Cyprus Taverna , and I can confidently say it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. From start to finish, the entire visit was a disaster.
First and foremost, the service was abysmal. Despite arriving on time , we were ignored for nearly 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. When a server finally did approach our table, their attitude was shockingly rude and dismissive. They seemed more interested in chatting with their colleagues than actually taking our order or addressing our concerns.
The timing was another major issue. After placing our order, we waited for almost an hour before our food arrived. During this time, not once did anyone check in on us or provide an update on the status of our meal. When we finally did receive our dishes, they were lukewarm at best and had clearly been sitting out for some time.
As for the food quality, it was simply unacceptable. Everything tasted bland and poorly prepared, as if no effort had been put into its creation. To add insult to injury, the portions were small and definitely not worth it.
Overall, AYIANPITIKA Cyprus Taverna failed on every front: service, timing, food quality, and customer care. I would strongly advise anyone considering this place to steer clear and find somewhere else to spend their hard-earned money. This was an experience I hope...
