Bella Vita offers a warm, cozy, and romantic dining experience, with a charming décor that enhances its intimate atmosphere. The scent of woodfire adds to the inviting ambiance, making it a lovely spot for a relaxed meal. The staff is incredibly friendly and kind, contributing to the overall pleasant experience. While the prices are reasonable, they could be slightly lower considering the portion sizes. However, the quality of ingredients was excellent, which is always a plus.
As for the food, it was good but not without its flaws.
We started with the Melanzane alla Parmigiana—baked eggplant with tomato sauce, basil, Parmesan, and mozzarella. It was decent but nothing particularly memorable.
For mains, the Lasagne had good flavor but lacked enough béchamel sauce, which made it feel a bit incomplete. I’ve had better lasagne elsewhere.
The Penne Pollo Cacciatore was flavorful, with al dente pasta and a nice balance of garlic, onions, and bell peppers. However, a bit more chicken and red bell peppers instead of green would have made the dish even better, along with a touch more cream.
The Bella Vita Pasta—served in a rich white cream and wine sauce with chicken, garlic, onions, and mushrooms, topped with fresh rocket and cherry tomatoes—was enjoyable but not particularly special. Again, a bit more chicken would have improved it.
The highlight of the meal was, without a doubt, the black truffle ravioli filled with ricotta and truffle, served in a rich, creamy Parmesan sauce. These were absolutely delicious, and I would return just for them. The sauce was mouthwatering, and I still find myself craving this dish.
Now for the downside—the service speed. The wait time between our starter and main courses was nearly an hour, which was frustrating. It seems that there is only one chef, which significantly slows things down. This is something they really need to improve.
Overall, we were happy with the food, and the restaurant has a lot of potential. However, the long wait times were a major drawback. If they can address this issue, Bella Vita could be an even better dining...

The restaurant is atmospherically brilliant and it looks as though everything from the lighting to the decorations has been lovingly crafted to provide the best environment possible in a gorgeous old sandstone house. the back-yard patio opens up in the warmer months providing a cooler space that's just as gorgeous as the indoor space, the fireplace burns hot in the winter, giving the entire inside space a warm, cosy glow.
In regards to the food, Bella Vita is one of the few restaurants I've grown to trust and feel comfortable ordering blindly in. The dishes are flavorful and the portions are generous, this paired with Dani's excellent recommendations and trust in his dad (Joseph)'s cooking, guarantees that no matter what you order; whether it be a simple garlic bread or a rib-eye steak, you'll leave both satisfied and with ideas on what to order next time you go.
The cocktails are great as well though don't let that stop you from ordering a bottle of wine from the carefully curated wine list according to the mood of the night.
All in all, Bella Vita might just be the best restaurant within the old town if not all of Nicosia. The owners are friendly and dedicated to maintaining their business to a high standard, I couldn't...
Read moreFirst, the good. The place has a nice chilled yet mildly romantic atmosphere; well, half of it anyway. The other half of the restaurant is bland and if the first half is full, you'll sit in the bland half, which is quite striking that they would allow this and won't renovate it. As for the food, we had one starter and three mains. The starter was fine (goat cheese balls). My main meal, a pasta dish with chicken and garlic sauce, was actually quite good in taste and the chicken was cooked superbly. The other main dish, a risotto, was awful. The person I was with did not even eat half of it. I instructed for the third dish to arrive with the other two, but it was delayed by 20-25 minutes, even after multiple comments I made to them to hurry it up. It was a pizza dish, so an easy and quick one to cook. Once it came I was astonished to discover that even pizza, my favourite food, can be awful. It just had no taste at all. I'd prefer if it were bad, but so extremely bland and plain is so much worse. The service was OK, with some staff giving us a lot of attention but some times you could find no waitor/waitress for more than 5 minutes, which given the mistake with the pizza being late, this just added insult to injury. I do not recommend, even though I wished...
