The food is very tasty, we ordered moussaka and it was really delicious, my boyfriend said that this is perhaps the best in his life so far (I haven't had that many, so difficult to say, but it was delicious indeed), the portion size was very good too.
Despite that food was very delicious, something was missing and I was thinking what...and I came to the conclusion that atmosphere was missing. When I visit a restaurant (and I think very many people will agree), I visit it not only for food but as well for the atmosphere. The first thing that I couldn't but notice- staff was smoking on the terrace! I hate it already when guests are doing that in so public sitting and disrespect those who are not smoking but if staff is doing that also then it is rather disappointing...There were 3 or 4 waitresses in the restaurant but they were unattentive, they were sitting in the corner and drinking beer. I have nothing against chilling and it is very cool that staff has such management that allows so free behaviour, but at the same time, as a guest, I would like to visit the restaurant and be served by people who focus firstly on their job and only then on the rest. We had a dirty dish (from the starter) in front of us and none even bothered to take it away before the main course arrives.
Anyway, the food is delicious and you will not get disappointed, but if you are looking for the atmosphere, then this might not be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI dined on the terrace, with souvlaki lamb on the spit, over coals, being turned by hand, smell wiffing about, whilst the sound of live Greek music, and long table full of locals singing along provided fabulous, authentic, impromptu entertainment. It is a family restaurant, I was served by mum of the family, but also chatted to young daughter, who spoke excellent English. I was so surprised to find such a genuine place literally 150m from the seaside promenade and my lovely hotel Almyra. What a contrast to restaurants by the harbour! I had village salad, as they call what we know as "Greek salad", here and homemade moussaka. Yes, the salad wasn't dressed, one had to ask for olive oil, and bechamel very thick on, but it all was so super tasty, and ambience and service so good, that these small qualms don't detract from my 5 star review. With a glass of local house wine, food and large bottle of local spring water the bill came to ā¬24. Will definitely go once more before I...

Main courses: Very limited vegan option and the one recommended (vine leaves) was OK but very basic but no alternative offered to the tzatziki, this made it a drry dish. This was really a large starter portion and ā¬17.
I ordered stifado. I know stifado is a stew but this thing that arrived was onion soup with 4 pieces of beef and a minimal crumble of feta on top. It cane with a spoon and that's it. I have had stifado before and this was by far the poorest I have had. ā¬19 for the displeasure. I wish I had taken a photo.
Worst of all was I actually told the waiter how disappointed I was and he just shrugged and said he had told the chef.........thats all you need to know.
ā¬56 for this with a half carafe of red.
Not worth it. You have...
