Oh, where do I even begin with this delightful restaurant experience? Let's start with the positives, shall we?
The fish mezze was just so delightfully simple, like, I mean, who needs greens and salad with their meal, right? And why not slap some potatoes on every dish, because that's exactly what people want when they go out for a nice meal, said no one ever – except this restaurant, apparently.
Oh, and let's not forget the stylish and spacious building! It's just the perfect place to chill during a heatwave, you know, because ambiance is the only thing that matters when you're sweating like a pig.
Now, let's dive into the absolute joyride that made up the rest of our experience. The moment we ordered, the waiter decided to impress us with their fraudulent charm by attempting to speak our native language. It was a hilarious disaster as they couldn't comprehend the parts about prices and taste. But hey, kudos to them for trying, right?
Oh, and the wine selection! When I asked for a recommendation, they pointed to the most expensive bottle, as if that's the only way to impress a customer. When I insisted on regular water, they pushed their premium water like their lives depended on it. Seriously, why would anyone want regular water when the premium one is sooo much tastier? Eye-roll
And let's talk about their impeccable timing! Not. While we were still savoring our starters, the waitstaff bombarded our table with new hot dishes, insisting on clearing unfinished plates and shoving the remnants onto our plates. How considerate of them!
But the highlight of the evening was when I stood up to make a toast for my best friend's birthday. Oh, how the waiters just couldn't resist interrupting me multiple times, clattering dishes, and asking random questions. I mean, why wouldn't you want to be swarmed by waiters during an emotional toast? Pure poetry, I tell you.
The fun never ends! They brought us red wine instead of white when we asked for a refill. Oh, and let's not forget half of our dishes turned into icy relics due to their marvelous tardiness. And the bathroom door...oh, it's placed so conveniently to splatter water all over you after washing your hands. A genius design, really.
But wait, there's more! They offered takeout to other guests without a second thought, but when we asked for the same, they acted like it was some colossal inconvenience. Thanks for the exceptional service, guys!
The main issue here is the service. These charming individuals clearly skipped all social etiquette classes. Their behavior would be unacceptable even in a kindergarten. Hopefully, the real staff will return from their mythical vacation soon and rid the restaurant of these bumbling buffoons. But knowing them, they probably have the actual staff locked away in the basement.
And let's give credit where it's due! Despite the impeccable manners and courtesy our group displayed throughout the evening, these fine folks perceived it as weakness. How delightful!
Oh, and one last kicker. I had the audacity to ask one of the waiters to take a photo of our group at the entrance. And what a masterpiece it turned out to be! Another waiter photobombed it, smirking like a self-satisfied cat with horns on their head. Bravo, folks, you've outdone yourselves!
So yeah, in conclusion, this restaurant offers an unforgettable experience – in the worst way possible. Do yourself a favor and run in the opposite direction if you value your sanity. Absolutely...
Read moreTonight, my partner, our 17-month-old child, and I dined at your restaurant in Pafos to celebrate my birthday. What should have been an enjoyable and special evening quickly turned into an uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience, due in no small part to the behavior of one of your waiters.
An Inexcusable and Objectifying Comment
Early into the evening, this waiter directed an unsolicited and inappropriate remark toward my partner, stating, “You look very good after the birth.” While some may attempt to pass this off as a compliment, it was, in reality, deeply intrusive and uncomfortable. The implication that a woman’s appearance post-childbirth is something to be publicly assessed by a waiter in a restaurant is both objectifying and offensive. It is entirely irrelevant how she looks—her body is not up for discussion, let alone commentary from a stranger. This remark placed her in an awkward position where she was forced to smile politely in response to an evaluation she never asked for, rather than being treated with the basic dignity and respect that any guest in a restaurant deserves.
An Unacceptable Attitude Toward a Toddler
Adding to the discomfort, our 17-month-old—like all children his age—was teething and quite tired. Naturally, as with any toddler, he explored his food, played with it, and, inevitably, some of it ended up on the floor. This is completely normal behavior for a child of his developmental stage, something that any family-friendly establishment should understand. Instead of responding with patience or even neutrality, the same waiter approached us and, in a patronizing tone, announced, “We will have to clean this up now.” This was not a simple statement of fact; it was delivered in a way that was clearly judgmental, making us feel as though our child was an inconvenience rather than a valued guest.
A restaurant that accepts families should also accept the realities that come with young children. If you do not wish to accommodate families, then be upfront about it rather than treating parents with condescension. The fact that your staff felt entitled to complain directly to us about the temporary mess left by a toddler speaks volumes about their lack of professionalism.
A Restaurant We Will Not Return To
By the end of the meal, any semblance of celebration had long since faded. What should have been an enjoyable evening was marred by an experience that left us feeling unwelcome and judged. We live in Pafos, and we make a point of supporting local businesses, but we will not be returning to your establishment. More importantly, we will not recommend it to others.
This is not the first time we have felt uncomfortable in your restaurant with our baby. We have visited on many occasions (both at your previous location and the current one) including on Christmas day and other special occasions.
A restaurant is not just about food; it is about hospitality. A good restaurant understands that customers come for an experience—one that should be comfortable, enjoyable, and free of unsolicited remarks or unnecessary judgment. Unfortunately, your establishment failed on all these...
Read moreWhat a shame ! Really. The food is one of the best I ever had in Cyprus , the steak exceptional, the place is stunning but the service and the management ruined it all ! We arrived (four of us) with an older couple around 5:30 in a Sunday late afternoon. Been greeted and shown to the table by a lady, chewing a gum with an open mouth, I could count her teeth. After ordering our drinks and vine we were ready to discuss the menu and recommendations with the waitress. We would of like to have a meze to share and shown on the menu for 28 euro. They pointed out that even it is on the menu, unfortunately that course is not available because they have an other meze on the specials menu for 40 per person. We didn't mind that at first even if it was strange a bit. As we weren't too hungry just wanted to grab some snacks we ordered 2 meze what we planned to share between us. That's were everything went from bad service to hell...The waitress said 4 person should order 4 food otherwise they won't be able to serv us . When I pointed out that we are not particularly hungry and with 2 elders who probably won't be able to finish the 1300 gram ribs, he just keep saying it's company policy. We've been stuck in that point. All drinks on the table and they won't serv food for us unless I order 4 items ! Ridiculous. I asked for the manager who came and basically repeated the same sentence as the waitress, adding that if I insist he can ask the owner he may change his mind. I asked him to do so. I seen him walking over to the owner ( whose 5 meter away from us but doesn't have the dignity to come to our table by himself!!!!), and come back saying we have to order 4 portions. So I order the meze and 2 appetizers (a salad and mushrooms) ! Now they are fine with the orders and start preparing and serving the food . I have to say that the food was excellent up to the last bit. The truth is that still so much and we ate so less that still haven't been able to finish all . Here is what I don't understand ( and I hope that the management or owners read this review) ... what was the point of all that ??? Forcing me to spend extra 15 euro not gonna hurt my pocket, especially because I would of give more on tip under normal circumstances, now you guys got zero beside a pissed customer. Not even mention it that I would of come back with family as well with clients many time as the food was truly great. A piece of advise . (Seen it many times in other upscale restaurants) If customer wants to share for its own reasons, let them do it, and charge some extra money for it. You would make the same or money and get a happy customer. If you say ok, we can split the order but charge an extra 5 euro per portion for serving etc I would of been an absolutely happy customer. Now I'm just an angry fella who doesn't even go close to your restaurant. What a shame . Ps. Chefs and kitchen stuff....
