Nema Pafos Restaurant — Restaurant in Paphos Municipality

We choose the restaurant because we stayed at hotel Anemi and a lot of people told us, that it is supposed to be one of the top 5 restaurant in Cyprus.

Unfortunately, we can’t agree. The Ambiente is quite nice, but in relation to the prices it is not equivalent. We ordered beef filet, for 33€, medium cooked. When it was served we learned that it was more than well done. It was crazy dry. Even though I usually don’t ask for another newly cooked steak, in this case it was totally uneatable.

After 20 min the new steak came. To be fair, it was only medium-well. But this time it was super chewy and full of tendons. It seemed as it came immediately out of the freezer.

Nevertheless, all that can happen. But the sad thing is, that the service and even the manager didn’t put any effort to excuse those mistakes. Nobody came and asked if it’s alright this time or did offer a free drink or whatever.

At the end I told the manager politely how disappointed we were, but it seemed that he didn’t really care.

All in all, the price is not worth the food at all.

This restaurant made my stay in Paphos even better. I even dined twice within one week! Fist time: I had shiraz rosé, squid ink liguini with prawns and salmon, and the dessert was tiramisu mille-feuille. The flavour was well balanced. Lemon fresh, with good seafood, the ink has a sublime taste, and the homemade pasta was al dente. The dessert was another level. I guess before Nema I just had bad tiramisu and that's why I didn't like it. But NOT this time! The butter and cream, as well as crunchy biscuit, layering up for a beautiful taste. Second time: White wine, grilled sea bream fillet and chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. It did not disappoint me. The sea bream was cooked well and the sauce brought out the taste. The dessert had a rich texture but not overwhelmingly sweet. Again, I love this restaurant. The service was wonderful. Servers were well trained and lovely. I will come back if I visit...
