The dates of the photos are 15.06.2025, an incredibly hot day 29 degrees. It was wonderful. The place is nice, clean and recently underwent major renovations, making it a calm, bright and clean place. I am very happy with the renovations, which make us feel safe and comfortable. It is one of my favorite places to be with friends and family and have a great time eating. I consider this to be one of the best places in Brno to enjoy Vietnamese food. The food is delicious, the temperature is perfect, I love the options shown in the photos. Although the staff does not speak Czech very well, they never get any orders wrong and are always available to serve us. When I compare many other places where the waiters are Czech, I must admit that they treat us better. Congratulations. They accept payment by card I recommend!!!

A well kept secret, but this is one of the best spots in Brno for vietnamese food. Family run, the menu features more than the ubiquitous pho, bun ca and bun bo. The bun rieu is a particularly nice thing to find on a menu here. In addition a large variety of specialities are available if ordered in advance.

Dříve jsem sem chodila cíleně, nicméně za mne obrovské zklamání. Dala jsem si Bun-Tom. Vývar z ananasu s krevetami a ještě k tomu spíše symbolické množství nahnané spoustou nudlí. Žádné dochucení v podobě citrónu, chilli, nebo alespoň chilli pasty, nakládaný česnek prý neznají, ale za to znají skvělou cenu. 200 Kč za cca 6 krevet s pár plátky anasu, bez patřičného vyvaru mi přijde nehorázné. A to zdražení opravdu chápu. Jednu hvězdu nechávám za dobře připravené krevety. K obluze se vyjadřovat ani nebudu. Byť v restauraci seděl jeden pár, musela jsem se po 10 minutách zvednout a jít se zeptat, jestli si mohu objednat. Měla jsem tendence odejít a měla jsem to udělat. Zjevně další restaurace, která nepřežila (kvalitou) covid 😞

The place is nice, but food is usually room temperature if not cold. The food is usually the same with not much variety. What really upsets me, is that they claim main dish +soup + drink for 150. However I was here 3 times in two weeks and twice no drink. When I asked they said "no drink". That is really not nice customer service. I think i will go to...

Nový podnik, nacházející se v prostorách nedávno uzavřené ukrajinské pivnice Koločava. Původní podnik jsem pro unikátní kombinaci vlastností (nekuřácké, pivnice, skvělé jídlo) soustavně navštěvoval celé roky. Vietnamská restaurace HOA MAI však krom drobných stavebních úprav (rozšíření kuchyně na úkor části vnitřních prostor) nic nezměnila a kompletně převzala vybavení Koločavy. Vzniká tak obskurní mix, kdy se v jednom podniku míchá vietnamská kuchyně s olejomalbami ukrajinského venkova na stěnách. Kde jinde než v Brně?!

Podnik zatím trpí na všechny dětské nemoci - obsluha je velmi pomalá (zejména přijdete-li ve skupině), pivo bylo pod míru (osmý smrtelný hřích) a vietnamsko-ukrajinský jídelní lístek snad dával dohromady David Lynch (za to ale palec nahoru). Nejsem sice fanda přístupu "mnoho žvance = dobrá restaurace", ale na poměry vietnamské kuchyně byly porce překvapivě malé. Personál však nedostatky vyvažoval svou ochotou, jídlo bylo bez výjimky velmi dobré a věřím, že za pár měsíců budu moct přidat hvězdičku a tuhle...
