Becketts Irish Pub and Restaurant — Restaurant in Prague

I've been visiting your place for over 5 years. Until now, everything was perfect. I love that Croatian guy being there all the time. However, today I ordered food and a beer. I got the beer as usual, pretty fast. What made me sad was that the Croatian guy brought me a dining set as usual, however, another waiter took it away while I was at the toilet. I went to the waiter and asked for a new one, yet it was never delivered. Ok, fine, there were a lot of people over there, but I mentioned three times that I needed a dining set, even though I was about to eat chicken legs. It ended up that I took it myself from another table. I had no tissues to clean my hands, nor extra plate for the bones and once again I asked twice to get some. They were never delivered to me. Besides that, I like your pub a lot and will not stop visiting it. Please pay attention to this, as it makes a totally different impression if you follow these simple/stupid things. I understand you might be busy, and we are all people in the end.

I have been a regular at Becketts Irish pub and restaurant in Vinohrady, Prague 2 for a few years now, and I have always had a great experience. The atmosphere is always lively and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive.

Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Becketts to watch the football world cup matches with a group of expats. The atmosphere was electric, and the waitresses Rita and Ines were fantastic. They were always on hand to refill our drinks and make sure we had everything we needed, and they were both incredibly friendly and helpful.

The food at Becketts is always top-notch, with a great selection of classic pub dishes as well as some more creative options. I particularly recommend the burgers and fries, which are always cooked to perfection.

I’m still in shock about how rude the bartender Greshga (big grey beard and glasses) was to me and my girlfriend. I arrived after her but before I got there he was extremely rude to her because she was a woman by herself. Then when I showed up, I calmly asked whether or not they would be playing the commentary for the Arsenal match and the interaction I had was insane. He made a very hostile “joke” that he would if I bought him a drink. I uncomfortably laughed and then tried to de escalate the situation by introducing myself. I shook his hand, but he just repeated my own name back to me mockingly. In the end we watched the Arsenal match with but with commentary from the Real Atleti match playing out loud. I work in an Irish bar in Prague myself and I genuinely can’t believe what happened tonight. Beckett’s is not an Irish bar at the moment. P.S The Bosnian owner seems lovely.
