Utterly OUTSTANDING!! ( so far first night and morning) The hotel reception this morning were so incredibly helpful nothing was too much trouble. It was a joy to talk to them. Room we are in is wonderful and the bath to die for!!

Edit..... Part two....

Since I first put this review on, a lot has happened on day two...

"I would like to write and thank in particular your receptionist Zuzana.

During our stay (day 2) my husband (Wayne) was taken seriously ill with pneumonia. I went to Zuzana to ask if she knew of a doctor I could find/call as Wayne needed urgent medical help and in a foreign country I did not know what to do nor did I know whom to ring.

Zuzana became a super human. She took down all my details, all the details of my Wayne's symptoms and suggested she , she, ring the emergency number. She did not say

" you need to....."

she did not say " not my problem"

she took the problem and gave me the breathing space I needed. I was scared and so upset with Wayne behind so so ill.

She rang and explained fully that we don't speak Czech, he was very very ill, we were very scared.

She told me to go back to the room and she would bring the ambulance people up to us and I'm not too worry as it's all under control. This woman is an angel.

The ambulance arrived she bought them up, made sure I was ok.

We went to hospital and 7 hours later we came back with medication etc. The first thing Zuzana did was to ask how we are, ANYTHING we need just ask. She got some tea made for me and some juice for my Wayne , I felt so looked after and so did he.

The attention to detail, the care, the empathy was simply wonderful and outstanding.

All this she did whilst simultaneously doing her job of front of house with other customers.

No panic, just utter professionalism and compassion.

The next morning ( today Sunday) again first thing.....

How is he and how are you? If you need anything please just ask and it will happen.

And the most amazing part of all is this??? She her self was feeling unwell the entire time and yet it did not stop her.

This email needs to be shown to everyone that this is how you care for guests, and this will go on to trip advisor and Google reviews to show that a hotel does not have to be sterile and stuffy etc it can be a gentle caring place but still be highly professional.

You could say that she has had good training, and I'm sure she has, but training someone does not guarantee they will be good, it only means they were shown what to do.

We will tell everyone about Zuzana and le palis hotel and this is THE hotel to stay at.

Sad for us we leave tomorrow and have seen nothing of what Prague has to offer due to being stuck in the room.

Would you please inform your director Josef Neufus he needs to know how good Zuzana is.

I wish I could give...

Le Palais is very beautiful Hotel. It’s located in quiet place in Vinohrady Prague 2. The Prague tube/metro is near hotel probably 10mins walking. The bus station is situated in front of the hotel (maybe 2mins?). The car park is available and in front of Hotel.

The bar inside is so good. Plenty of drinks. All the members of staff were fabulous. Very nice, very friendly, brilliant English and they helped every time we needed. One of the example was ordering the taxi or the phone call to our room like an alarm to get up and get to the taxi in time.

Our bedroom was double deluxe. We had a coffee machine there with coffee and tea bags. Also TV and mini bar. Big wardrobe with the mirror. The window had electric blinds and it made absolutely brilliant night without light.

The bathroom was amazing with great bath and floor heating. Plenty of towels ready and shampoo, shower gels, and body lotion included. Shower cap and make up cleaning small box included too.

All rooms were so clean and smells nice.

The breakfast was served in Hotel’s restaurant. Unfortunately because of the COVID restrictions didn’t allow to be open at the evening. But I am sure it will change soon. Finger crossed. Open from 7:00am to 10:30am. The members of staff always bring us coffee (even they didn’t really needed to do it). The breakfast was in buffet form - plenty options available. Nice prepared - lots of fruit, vegetables, yogurts, jams, marmalade, smoothie, English breakfast, tea/coffee/juices/water….

In the basement was very pretty small wellness spa. Cosy and nice. Jacuzzi/sauna included. Also massages available. Needed to book in advance.

Our holidays in Prague in that Hotel was sooo great! We enjoyed it a lot.

Hotel is not only for holiday guests but also for professionals / business men/women.

The members of staff were very professional....

Overrated Hotel We have spent 7 night in this hotel, but the service we received worse than hostel, the hotel do NOT reserve to be as five star hotel: - without giving us prior clear information, withdrawal 245 euro from our bank card as move in deposits - free toiletries do not include tooth brush and toothpaste (the hotel replied that because our booked room is standarded one , but this is my first time to hear that a 5 stars hotel do not includes these basic items) - hotel requested for additional room cleaning fee 7.8 euro per night due to covid. This fee was not explicitly mentioned before/when we check in. - Even we requested to make up the room, they only partly make up the room..(did not make up the bed, did not collect/wash the obviously used glasses, not sweep the floor, did not refill the coffee capsule in mini bar..etc) - we have talked with five different staffs in reception, most of the staff were not helpful and friendly. Apart from the above, the interior design and the facilities (e.g. quality of towels, hot water system..etc) of hotel are satisfied. The breakfast buffet served enough varieties of good food. There was slightly change of varieties of food in buffet bar every day. The lady work in breakfast section provided good service too. All in all, we will definitely not return to this hotel again and not recommend to others. The hardware of the hotels were good with no doubt, but the service from the hotels ruined our overall experience.

My room was located On the fourth floor in late May 2024. It was weather warm and humidity was above 70%. Kuba, The front desk helper stated that he would not be turning on the Air conditioning at this time of the year, this is a 5 star hotel. Kuba, Refused to call a supervisor or anyone else to help, he did bring what he called a mobile air conditioning unit, which was just an evaporative cooler, refused to put water in it and left it on with a gurgling sound which introduced into room and very annoying sound. He did agree to switch rooms, which according to the thermostat was a hotter room. I went down the street and got another hotel room that evening with AC working very well. In fact I remember having to lower the AC unit down at this 3 star hotel. Kuba and the hotel refused any refund. Though I was only there for five minutes, maybe another hour trying to convince them to refund the money. Caused me many hours of time and frustration and took my money. Signed, Happy after I left. Below is a picture of Kuba refusing any help.
