Restaurace U Holanů — Restaurant in Prague

Today I found your restaurant through TripAdvisor. It is recommended as a good place which is popular among locals. I came to your place around 4pm and ordered a pork knee and two beers. Before ordering, I immediately asked the waiter if I could pay by card, he said no. I had no Czech crowns - only the euro. The waiter answered that he has no problem to accept the euro. My lunch costs 310 Crowns. I gave him 50 euros which is about 1,250 Crowns at the current rate. I expected the change to be about 900 crowns, but I only got 540 crowns. When I asked where the other 400 crowns were, the waiter laughed and said that he had changed my euro at his own rate which is 17 crowns per 1 euro instead of 25 as in the bank and that it is normal for a restaurant in the Czech Republic to do such things without prior disclaimer. The food was very tasty and I would leave a good tip anyway, but the waiter “decided” it for me. I didn't call the police for 400 crowns, but I'm sure that if your employees do this further, it will affect your profits and reputation. Very good menu, not too much food just the good portion ( entrée, main course and 1 main course fruits divided by 3 for desert). Prices are not very high and the quality is good ! I recommend this place to eat :) The server is nice, fast and friendly ! We can’t pay by credit card but we can by euros and by czk in cash...

Tentokrát to byla bída: přes půl hodiny čekání vůbec na obsluhu a pak i na pivo... Chodím sem řadu let jednou za měsíc na sraz s kamarádama. Hospoda je to určitě populární, velmi často je plno a když funguje zahrádka, tak i ta je plná. Jídlo jsem zde nikdy neměl, protože mě odrazuje to, co se line z kuchyně do lokálu natolik, že ztrácím chuť. Byť nabídka třeba nevypadá marně. Ale pivo tu vždy bylo výborný a i obsluha celkem rychlá a v pohodě, úměrně obsazení podniku. Poslední dobou to ale upadá...stále jiná obsluha, která z nejrůznějších důvodů nestíhá a hlavně pivo, konkrétně 10° Gambáč, nestojí za nic. A rozhodně ne za těch aktuálních 32,-. Než k vám dorazí na stůl, je téměř bez pěny a chuť nic moc. Poslední návštěva byl vrchol, jak jsem psal na začátku.... škoda, bývaly zde lepší časy. Doufám, že se zase vrátí. Já na to ale...
