Boong, nestled within the enchanting streets of Prague, is a sanctuary for those who savor the art of sushi. But it's more than a mere sushi bar; it's a place where the culinary traditions of Japan and Vietnam meld, where every bite is a celebration of freshness, artistry, and flavor, and where dining becomes an experience that lingers in your memory long after the meal.
The highlight? A 44-piece sushi boat, an odyssey across the ocean, each piece a delicate morsel of the sea's bounty, crafted to perfection. Fresh, served at that perfect lukewarm temperature, and made to order, this was a feast that defined our day—no, our week. From the amazing avocado maki, rich in texture and flavor, to the buttery sashimi that melted on the tongue, to the Ebi nigiri that was, quite simply, to die for, each bite was a revelation.
The attention to detail was remarkable, with a sesame allergy handled without a question, showcasing not just culinary skill but also an understanding of the diner's needs. And the drinks? A symphony in liquid form. Vietnamese green tea, a refreshing palate cleanser, and the lychee lemonade, a zesty delight, complemented our meal to perfection.
But the magic of Boong didn't stop at the sushi boat. We were entranced, held captive by the allure of the culinary excellence that we couldn't resist seconds. Gyoza and spring rolls followed, each a masterclass in flavor, texture, and presentation. Perfection? Absolutely, and in every sense of the word.
Sitting outside, taking in the charm of Prague while indulging in a meal that transcended mere dining, we found in Boong a place that was more than a restaurant. It was a fleeting glimpse into a world where food is a language, where each dish is a conversation, and where culinary mastery is an art form that touches not just the taste buds but the soul.
Boong is a rare gem in a city filled with culinary treasures. It's a place where you don't just eat; you embark on a journey that celebrates the essence of sushi, the nuances of Vietnamese beverages, and the joy of discovery. If Prague is the heart of Europe, Boong is a heartbeat that echoes the timeless allure of exquisite dining. One meal here, and you'll know: this is where...
Read moreCame here with a Pho craving after seeing great reviews and was pretty disappointed. First and foremost, do NOT order beer here. It was clearly old, stale, and undrinkable. My girlfriend had a nice tea however. My Pho was a real letdown though: the broth was indeed delicious but the beef was 3-4 tiny pieces, basically a bowl of noodles, barely 6 total bean sprouts (seriously?), and the worst part of it was the whole bowl was PACKED with cilantro stems instead of leaves, resulting in a rather bitter crunch in every bite- not nice. On a positive note, the service here is superb; both servers were very kind. But sadly my specific dish on this specific night had a lot of room for...
Read moreLovely restaurant within 10 min walking distance from my hotel. Visted around 9.30pm it was quiet but a nice relaxing ambiance having briefly passed by Wesceslas Square.
I ordered the No 35 Chicken and Vegetables. Lovely presentation, delicious rice, tender chicken pieces and an abundance of fresh crunchy veg. Rich unami favours but just a tad salty for my taste buds However, a touch of siracha sauce helped balance out the flavours.
I had a nice refreshing ginger ale to accompany my meal.
Very reasonable prices away from the tourists traps.. Friendly English speaking staff and attentive polite service throughout . I didn't feel rushed at all despite it nearing...
