We went to Chutnej for a late dinner, I was quite surprised by the super cosy and beautiful decor. Exactly my taste, and I think it would make an amazing date night spot. The restaurant has two floors, upon arrival I was immediately greeted with smiles. I ordered some chai latte which was really delicious to start. For main, I decided to go for the Chutnej burger with fries. It was quite good and the portion was really great as well. The burger is super garnished and tall, you get a new taste at every bite. The burger bun is also very nice, super fluffy and shiny. The patty is made from oyster mushrooms and seitan I believe so it doesn’t hold its shape as other vegan buns but the stringy texture was definitely interesting. Fries were well prepared, thin, crunchy just as they should be! It also comes with tartar sauce which was well seasoned. It’s probably not the best vegan burger in Prague but I think you will be still very happy if you order it! My friend got the stuffed ravioli and she said it was good but maybe slightly undercooked, however I personally haven’t tasted so I cannot confirm or deny this. Service overal was very good, both serves were smiling and very polite. They forgot about us two time 😀 first before our order and the second time before we left and they switched on the music quite loudly but they apologized both times and were just super friendly and it was also a full house so I don’t blame them. Also they let my friend charge her phone there and we sat there almost till closing without any issues so again despite the small bumps our experience was very positive. Verdict: I recommend!

🌿 “The Future is Plant Based!” 🍔 Exploring Prague’s vegan food scene led me to @chutnej, a 100% vegan gem nestled in the city. Their unwavering dedication to using fresh, sustainable ingredients ensures an eco-conscious dining experience. 🍔 The menu boasts a tantalising array of plant-based options. The sloppy Joe burger was a delight with pulled “pork” (oyster mushrooms) in homemade BBQ sauce. The homemade patties burger, featuring kale, celery, and expertly blended spices, was a revelation of flavours. 🍝 The lasagne, loaded with grilled veggies and homemade tempeh in a luscious tomato sauce, is a must-try. 🍕 “The Queen” pizza, crowned with demi-glace, cream, and oyster mushrooms, redefines pizza perfection. 🍰 For desserts, we had the tiramisu, with its delicate layers of coffee-soaked sponge cake and creamy mascarpone. The bun in rum caramel, a comforting dessert with a hint of boozy richness that rounded off the meal perfectly. 🍹 The drink menu features homemade Kombucha, refreshing lemonade and inventive cocktails. 🌱 Their motto, “The Future is Plant Based,” truly reflects their commitment to sustainable and delicious vegan cuisine. 🍔🍕

Food itself is 10 stars out of 5. Worse is size of the portions, even with soup I don't feel the lunch is enough for me (and I am 47, so I eat half than I ate in my 20's). Today's was the breaded mushroom escalope, which I appreciate the seasonal meal! Unfortunatelly the escalope was super thin and most of the thickness was just the bread (foto). The service & atmosphere needs some improvements. The soup was lukewarm, they apologized and fixed the problem. I think it was not for the first time. And music was super annoying. Quite loud "disco"-like tum-tum music (strong beats), super distracting when you want to just relax and eat. I said it to the waitress, she promissed to fix and nothing happened. Then I said it to another waitress, and then they fix it nicely, music was only very silent and more calm. But after few songs there was again this loud thum-thum music. I was pretty pissed at that moment and told them the 3rd time. There are definitely things to be improved for a good experience. I am regular here, so I will revisit this review if things improve.

I'll start by saying this is one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at, and I've eaten at a lot of restaurants and worked at a lot of restaurants. The atmosphere is pleasant, the place is clean and pleasant, the music fits the place perfectly, the waiters are very nice, polite and know excellent English. The food is exceptionally delicious and frankly better than most "chef" restaurants of any kind. I recommend not to give up the starter dish in any way, not only does it look excellent, the flavors are accurate and so is the texture, I read many recommendations about the pizzas of the place but I preferred to try the lasagna (a dish that is usually average in restaurants), the best lasagna I have ever eaten in a restaurant, I took the soup, a basic and simple vegetable soup, in my opinion to order it to start the meal in preparation for the rich flavors of the dishes I mentioned, I took the Baba dessert, they prepare it in a different way than usual but it is also tasty and not too sweet. In addition to all this, they have the option to buy a variety of cheeses that they make, and in my opinion, this shows the highest quality. They also serve Japanese tea in a proper and good way. As I said one of the best restaurants in Europe and the Middle East together. I will definitely return to this restaurant and recommend it...
