Ristorantino da Matteo — Restaurant in Prague

I haven’t been there for a couple of years. This evening was good to see Matteo again and I was again pleased with the excellent quality of food and friendly service . The vitello tonnato was excellent with tender slices of meat cooked to perfection ( rose’) topped with a rich and velvety tuna sauce. Very tasty the beef tartare not to mention the paccheri with seafood were to die for. Pasta cooked al dente topped with fresh scampi,octopus, vongole also the beef tagliata need a mention. Tender beef slices cooked to perfection served with buttered spinach and Parmesan flakes. At the end we also tried the chocolate fondant with cherry whipped cream. I gotta give it five stars because the food is simply excellent, and since I need to counter some of those one- or three-stars reviews here because they're simply malevolent. Yes, the prices are high for the not-the-centre-of-Prague. Yes, the interior design needs improvement. Yes, the service is relaxed but it's no a disadvantage, this atmosphere makes you feel like in real Italy. And the food is simply top-notch, from the starter through the main dish to dessert and final limoncello. These are real Italians and really fresh products. Love it and...

We had a fantastic meal tonight in Ristorantino da Matteo. I wasn't sure what to expect, visiting an Italian restaurant in Prague, but it was one of the nicest Italian meals I've ever had - on par with the best places we've visited in Italy.

The service was brilliant and incredibly informative - we were talked through each item on the menu and really were spoilt for choice. It's not a huge menu, but everything sounds incredible. Every single thing we ordered was delicious.
