The most rude employee ever, old 'lady' with glasses, who started arguing with us and with my 15 months old baby in czech and after in english.
We were there with my baby and my mother. My baby ofcourse was all the time with us, walking next to me, holding our hands because she has just beggining to walk. We were at other part of this room and this 'lady' came to us and really rude way started to argue with us, i told her i dont understand, and she asked which langueage what we speak, answer was only english and mother langueage. And she started list languages what she knows disdainfully. In this room was one other family with older kids, but they were too in other part. The lady started to speak in poor english and we did not really understand. She told us -when we showed to my baby some other parts of the exibition - we have to go with her now... We went because we did not know what she wanted to tell or show us. She instructed my 15 months old to pack up all the toys (about 40 wooden toys, where kids role play in shop) with aggressive face, and my baby did not understand what she was talking about. We tought she was just kidding, but we did not understand why she so aggressive is. We ask why she wants to my daughter to do this. She told us it is not her job it is my dautger's job. And "not possible" to do this what baby did.. Whaaaaat? She is not able to do that what was there, because she is small. (older kinds can do it only for sure) We told her we even was not there or see this toys before, and baby was not there too because of she is not allowed to walk alone just we wanted to go there some minutes later. She told us she does not care we did it she has to do it immidiatelly. Started tossing toys to their place. I told her again we did not even touch anything there. I think it is not appropriate speak with guest like this and with baby... I dont know how she dare to speaks like that who even was not there never before. Firstly she need to ask but did not do it. And if we tell her we did not make the mess she has to tell us sorry or just not argruing more and tell us we have to do. We went to reception to complain about it,and they told understand it and sorry.. but i would like to be sure other people with baby not find themself in situation like this, somebody aggressive with their baby for no reason, if she was rude only just with us i would let it go, but with baby who feels everybody mood and see somebody aggressive behavior towards to them. Nobody is allowed to do with a small innocent baby!!!!!! We paid 300 czk for that really bad...
Read moreThis is the best museum I've ever been to that is excellent for both children and adults.
My toddler had many fun things to occupy him right next to excellent adult exhibits. I had time to read and think while not having to worry he was about to run off and touch something he shouldn't.
There were so many interactive exhibitions which were fun and educational aimed at different ages, alongside purely educational exhibits for older children and adults which were presented in clear and creative ways.
This is a very clever and thought through museum, which teaches people about all of the different sides of food, way beyond just agriculture. From the roof top garden of food crops, to sections on forestry, hunter-gatherers, fishing and more.
My suggestions for how it could be better:
While some of the exhibits focus on the damaging effects of current agricultural/fishing techniques on nature, the museum doesn't sufficiently explore what alternatives there are to the current way of doing things. There could be an exhibit called 'The future of Food' which focussed on more sustainable/ethical forms of agriculture/fishing, which could include:
Agro-forestry/silvo-culture Forest gardening People eating less meat and animal products due to the devastating impacts of animal agriculture on the planet. The rise of vegan and vegetarianism in Prague (and the world) The rise of lab-grown meat The rise of the organic food movement The rise of the permaculture movement The rise of Fair Trade in the Czech republic. Agricultural techniques which require less land (e.g. less animals eaten, or the rise of vertical farms) or which require less resources (e.g. the use of robots to manually weed fields or to use robots to minimise the use of fertilisers on crops by just targetting weeds). And more...
It's very important to emphasis agricultural techniques which are more sustainable, in terms of soil health, energy use, carbon emissions/climate impact, impact on other species, pollution, effects on forests, and more.
Overall though an excellent, fun and...
Read moreOn our next trip to Prague, we were lucky enough to visit the national Technical Museum. To reach the Museum by tram 1,8,12,25,26 to stop "Letensk nmst". More than a century ago, the Czech Republic was famous for its industrial development. And in 1908, the Museum was opened with a technical theme, but over time, exhibits became very much and the government decided to build a new building for the Museum, which was adopted in 1942. The Museum is very large, my advice to you, in the lobby there is a map of the Museum with pavilions, before you start exploring the pavilions, choose for yourself the most interesting. It can be an exhibition of vehicles, a photography hall, a hall of printing history, an architectural exposition, astronomy, and an exposition of the country's industrial achievements. Our attention, first of all, attracted the exhibition of vehicles. This is probably one of the largest exhibitions in this Museum. Here are cars of past centuries, airplanes, motorcycles, bicycles. the Museum can trace the history of Czech transport. It is forbidden to touch the exhibits, but you can take pictures, but for an additional fee. We loved this Museum! There will be an opportunity, be sure to visit it, learn a lot of new and...
