Restaurant Det Tredje Sted — Restaurant in Aalborg Municipality

Once in a while you get surprised, you come across a restaurant that is in the main shopping street that is not a tourist trap but a really great restaurant. Nice food and great wines. Served by two lovely service oriented waitresses. One of these ladies, a lady called Emma I believe, was simply outstanding in her service to everybody actually. I travel a lot and experience a huge variety of advice so, when somebody stands out amongst a sea of other people, they must have something. She greeted everybody with a smile and really presented the food well. My next door table had a lovely old couple. They were so delighted at how she looked after them and suggested to try the Sauternes to go with their special dessert. They were so happy. The place has an elegant feel. Definitely a nice spot to spend some time. The location is very central, which is another plus. The way the dishes were presented was also quite appealing. However, the food didn’t quite live up to the atmosphere. Everything we had tasted a bit ordinary and overall "mildly flavored." It wasn’t bad, but the flavors didn’t meet our expectations, especially considering the price, which felt a bit high for what we got. We ordered appetisers and then waited a whole hour until we got the main courses. We had to politely ask if there’s anything wrong with our order and the waitress proceeded to first tell us that “we should have stated that we wanted all courses served right away”. When we told her that well it’s been a whole good hour, she said that the problem was that we were still eating. (We were snacking on the leftover bread because we were hungry).
