Garbanzo — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

Unfortunately, a very disappointing and dangerous experience.

I usually avoid writing negative reviews, but the seriousness of what happened at Garbanzo compels me to speak up.

I ordered a chicken salad and clearly specified that it must be gluten-free and dairy-free due to intolerances. Despite this, I was served a salad that not only appeared to contain gluten (likely from farro or a similar grain), but was completely drenched in sauce….so much so that it was hard to even see the ingredients underneath.

I strongly suspect the sauces contained dairy, as I suffered a severe physical reaction shortly after eating, which completely ruined my last day in Copenhagen. Even hours later, I am still feeling extremely unwell.

This level of incompetence is dangerous. Had I been allergic instead of intolerant, the consequences could have been life-threatening.

Restaurants must take dietary restrictions seriously….not just for customer satisfaction, but for basic...

We were just passing by the street, and we saw that place. Decided to try, man, that was incredible. Honestly , we tried a lot of pitas, kebabs etc, but this one is something else. I don’t even think you can compare that place to a kebab, it’s just so much higher level. Anyway, honestly, best falafel I’ve ever had. Best pita bread, the chicken one was amazing too. The pitas filling is out of this world. No, man , that was an incredible experience. We will definitely come back and make you guys our best spot for a pita, without a doubt. On walking around the City and surrounding areas looking for the little mermaid, we stumbled, literally, on this little gem en route back to the hotel. Everything we were looking at was meat or fish and the Garbanzo offered exactly what we wanted tasty Vegetarian and Vegan dishes.
