Mama Rosa — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

I'm not sharing this review to insult the business, the staff or the food. I'm just giving my honest opinion and I'm sure others would have different experiences.

We went in as a table of 7, were seated quickly upstairs and were served quickly. Drinks came fairly quickly and then some of the food arrived. Then we ordered more drinks, and again, some of it arrived.

1 of the other food items arrived and we ordered some more drinks. Those drinks arrived but not the missing drinks from before. At this point the people who got their food first have finished and the only explanation we're given for the missing food is a vague "oh there must have been a problem". No explanation was even given when the waitress was told that if it doesn't come soon we're leaving. The burger and fries then eventually turned up with no explanation about why it took 45-60 minutes.

I understand as much as anyone that issues occur. But when it was consistently for drink orders and food. When there was little to no communication about why there is such a long wait and when after that, absolutely no reduction is offered on the bill as an apology, I just find it unreasonable. If there is an issue, that's fine but explain this to us. If the service has been bad then reduce the bill to apologize for this. There is no way we should have been paying full price for everything, the burger should have been reduced at the very least, as when it has taken an hour to turn up, you're no longer paying for what you agreed.

In regards to the food. I didn't ask anyone else but it wasn't bad, but it wasn't special either. I had a pizza and it seemed like they had a different kind of cheese on it, whereas the menu stated mozzarella, but it didn't taste like mozzarella, and it wasn't melted on to the pizza like it either.

As I say, 100 other people might go there and not have the experience we had, there might have been staff shortages or very legitimate reasons for the problems we had. But I can only review it based on my experience and my experience wasn't great. I certainly wouldn't go back again when...

The WORST encounter that ever happened to us tourists out of all countries! Bad service, Over-cooked food, Arrogant servers, and just awful. The place looked promising at first with its great ambience, especially with the plenty of people outside, so we had no choice but to eat here as it was the closest to us. First off, The server was very aggressive in taking our order, especially placing the napkins, glasses, and utensils on our table with no alignment. With their high priced food, you should atleast expect great hospitality, yet it felt like we weren’t even visible to their eyes. Not just that, but right after we finished our food, they immediately took our plates without permission, and gave us the bill seconds later, that was even faster than the food being given to us 😂. HERE’S THE WORST PART, after calculating the money, we gave the bill, and it took a LONG time for the change to be given. We asked them three times for the change, and the server only kept saying “wait a minute”. After minutes of waiting, we couldn’t wait anymore so I stood up and asked directly to her on where’s the change, she said “you didn’t give me a bill yet, how would I give you the change”, and the whole family goes CRAZY SHOOK, we paid A LOT of money, and for it to be gone, just simply vanished from the restaurant for us just to be waiting for change we never even paid. The question is why did the server kept saying “wait a minute” if she didn’t even remember recieving A BILL. Like, HELLO? But thankfully, they just placed it in the corner of the room, just left hanging and could’ve been stolen by anyone. After that, we left and reminded ourselver to never come back to this restaurant and always remember to check the reviews. Yes the location was good, but for that heck of an experience, would you risk your bill for that. If you made it to the very end, I’m sorry but please do be careful of the restaurants in the main/popular cities of countries specifically TOURISTS!! , you can just never be sure of safety. Waiter pays for your gfood if you're not satisfied! They get deducted from salary even though they didn't make the food! Washed cutlery at our table that was still dirty with food on it. We Ordered appetizer that wasn't even served yet even after 45 minutes wait for our cold served pasta that also was tasteless just like the coke that tasted like water. We canceled the appetizer and returned the coke. We instantly complained about the food to the waiter and the water offered to heat the pasta up (we said no, because we didn't want our pasta microwaved.) We told the waiter that we were hungry and it shi*t o'clock in the evening so we're gonna eat the pasta anyways but we're not gonna pay the full price for it.

When we finished we asked for the receipt and the water came with it. We noted that the coke and the appetizer was on it, eventhough we canceled them. We told her that we wanted a discount, but she couldn't offer one, so we asked for the manager. The manager arrived, we then explained the situation, then he looked at the waiter and asked here "what do you think". I was shocked, because the manager was asking the waiter if it was okay to give us discount. The waiter looked Exhausted and sad, I asked here "why are you getting sad, you didn't make the food, you just serves it?" She then told me that any discount haven because of bad food is deducted from their salary??!

We we're shocked, never ever had i heart something like this in Denmark. Not even in Africa do they have a policy like this!

We ended paying full price for the cold tasteless food except the coke and appetizer we didn't get.

I've recorded the episode and will make a report about this place. No one should work or get treated like this, specially when you don't have anything to do with the food nor the prices.

Stay away from this place. We've been eating here many times, but no more after this episode and after knowing about how they run the business.. If you don't pay for the food, they make there hard working...
