📍 Grød, Copenhagen
What can we say… we must be your biggest fans
When I arrived in Copenhagen my sister knew our very first stop for breakfast had to be Grød. There was no hesitation, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. From the moment we stepped in, the space had that signature Scandinavian coziness, clean design, soft lighting, warm smiles from the staff. It instantly set the tone for a calm, nourishing start to our day.
We tried the following: ✨ The Green Bowl 💚, an absolute celebration of freshness. Every bite tasted like health, but in the most delicious way possible. ✨ The Overnight Oats 🥣, creamy, chilled, and layered with so much texture. The oats were rich yet smooth, and the toppings added bursts of sweetness and crunch. Comforting, energizing, and exactly what we needed on a warm Copenhagen morning.
The food was a 10/10, but honestly, the experience was more than just breakfast. The vibe here is relaxed, wholesome, and inviting, making you want to linger with your bowl a little longer. The staff were kind and attentive without ever being overbearing you could feel that they truly care about the food and the people they serve.
As visitors, we were so grateful for a spot that felt both authentic to Copenhagen’s food scene and welcoming to travelers. For anyone looking for a place to fuel their day, whether you’re a local popping in before work or a tourist discovering the city, Grød is the definition of starting your morning right.
We’ll absolutely be back, and next time we’re bringing the whole crew to try even more bowls. Thank you, Grød, for being everything we needed...
Read moreThis review is written in a state of utter frustration and disappointment. We just left Grød after well over an hour of waiting for our food that we never got. The 3 teens who were working had no understanding of the words customer service and no awareness of their surroundings. After waiting for over an hour we finally got up to ask about our food. They looked at each other helplessly and said they “lost the order”. This is a very small space and we were sitting in plain site so how they didn’t come to realize that we hadn’t gotten our order is mind boggling. We asked for a refund and left in anger, frustration, hunger, disbelief, and disappointment, as we were really looking forward to what might have been a good meal. I would not recommend this place due to abominable service alone. (Also, we ordered a beer when we arrived and when we took it out of the fridge it was room temperature. When we asked the young girl who rang us up if they had any cold ones because this one was warm she said, “no, we just put those in there”. Mentioning that when we ordered it would have been helpful.) Very...
Read moreThe risengrød was so salty that there was no point finishing it. It made you unhappy just eating it. If you've ever added salt to your tea instead of sugar, you know what I mean.
I asked the server if it was supposed to be so salty, she said "yes. There's salt in it. So it's salty." and the conversation ended there. We ordered an extra oatmeal to not go hungry. It would have been nice if she'd expressed any curiosity about that.
I love oats. I'm also part Danish and ate risengrød every childhood Christmas. I was excited for my girlfriend to try the risengrød with cinnamon sugar.
I will say that the "All-In" oatmeal was lovely, but I'm annoyed they didn't just mention "by the way, we make our risengrød salty. Don't order it if you don't like salty risengrød".
Good oats. Not a great...
