I have to start out by saying that I have purchased wine here often which has been a pleasure. Furthermore, I have had few visits to the winebar which have also been sucessful. However, yesterday evening I have had the worst experience that I remember to ever have had in Copenhagen with hospitality.
The two friends that I visited with received their glasses of wine within 5 minutes after arrival. I, however, was not so lucky as I requested a specific wine (Friulano) which she had to look for. After waiting for 10 minutes without any notice, we saw the waitress help customers that were sitting next to us, upon which my friend reminded her that I also had requested a glass of wine. The waitress arrogantly responded to this, by snarling to us that she was looking for the wine, but it was difficult to find. In the following 30 minutes she came by many times to help other customers, but without even glimpsing at our table. In the final 15 minutes that we sat there, she stopped once to notify us that she was still looking, but no sorry or other form of apology.
When I still hadn't had any drink after an hour (I think that I'm pretty patient), I became to annoyed to remain seated and went inside to pay. When I arrived at the counter, the waitress looked at me without even saying anything and walked away. Then she came back and said that she now finally found the wine; "if I still wanted a glass". I responded annoyed to this by saying that now it just took too long and I would like to pay. Without any remorse nor apology she prepared the pin machine so that I could pay after which I walked off.
Today, the day after, I'm still amazed by how you can be so rude and still not have given me an apology.... It's no problem to make a customer wait (a limited amount of time), however, please communicate and be a bit customer-focused when you work within hospitality.
I hope that you can use this feedback to improve your service so that other customers don't have to share such a bad experience of an otherwise...
Read moreSo I bought a winetasting from Smartbox for my wife's birthday. I paid 799:- swedish kronor. (Todays currency 600dkk) We planned an evening in Copenhagen and started it here. We got a table, we were alone in the "winebar" We were each served half a glass of bubbly and a tapasplate to share. After a while we were served a 1/4 full glass each of white wine poured from a half empty bottle. At this time our winetasting waitor leaves!!! Without saying anything to us. So now we are alone in the bar with some other guy that just stands behind the bar, drinking wine and staring at his phone!!! 30 minutes of empty glasses goes by and at this point we just want to leave. But I walk up to him and disturb his phonetime and ask him if we could possibly get the red wine. So he takes a break, and pour two 1/4 full glasses of red wine, also from a bottle that is almost empty. Then we left. So...unless the tapasplate cost about 350:- dkk we were cheated on that money. I have had some bad service in my life, but this takes the cake! Their review of 4.5 is a joke to me. Avoid this bar, and if you have bought a smartbox, don't...
