When we arrived a few minutes after the time of our reservation, we were greeted by getting an earful from the waiter and ordered to wait at the door for him to be ready to check our corona passes. We waited for five minutes and were relegated to wait like scolded six year olds as apparently none of the other waiters were authorized to check. We were not shown to our table or told there was a coat check, offered any words of welcome or anything to drink. When the last members of our party arrived and we were greeting each other, we were again scolded and ordered to sit down "and could we make it quick!" We waited for quite a while to give our order, again without having being offered anything to drink in the meantime. I waited almost 30 minutes to finally get my draft beer, after having ordered it three times. The food was good. It's a practical choice if you have a mixed company of carnivores and vegetarians. But the service was appallingly poor. We were hushed for laughing to loudly and one guest was shamed for not placing his knife and fork in the correct position on his plate after finishing his meal and therefore inconveniencing the staff. We were there for three hours and paid a pretty penny, but we're left with an impression that we were more of a nuisance than welcome guests. I will certainly not intrude...
Read moreI just had an amazing experience at Olive in Copenhagen, and I couldn’t wait to share it!
During our short trip to Copenhagen, we had the pleasure of dining at Olive, and it was an experience worth sharing. Despite calling at the last minute, the manager graciously found us a table, welcoming us with warm hospitality from the moment we stepped inside.
The atmosphere was truly inviting—soft lighting and a cozy ambiance made us feel instantly comfortable. From the start, the staff demonstrated exceptional attentiveness, recommending delicious meals perfect for first-time visitors. Their enthusiasm and hospitality were evident in every interaction.
What stood out most was their personalized service. Each dish was thoughtfully introduced as it arrived at our table, and they genuinely cared about our experience, checking in on our satisfaction throughout the meal. One of the lovely staff members even suggested the perfect glass of wine to complement our dishes, adding an extra touch of thoughtfulness.
From start to finish, everything about Olive exceeded expectations. The impeccable service, warm ambiance, and mouthwatering cuisine made it a dining experience to remember. I wholeheartedly recommend Olive to anyone visiting Copenhagen—it’s a must-visit! A big thank you to the entire team for making our...
Read moreWe tried the Olive's teasting menu. Starring a salmon tartar, mushroom soup, peppercorn steak and a creme brulee.
The salmon tartar was good, and the advocado sauce even better. Beauty.
The mushroom soup was very good and creamy. But it was maybe a little bit bland, as it was the only two flavours that were standing out. They mentioned some truffle flakes, but did not catch my mouth. But still very good!
The peppercorn steak. Lets start with the pepper sauce, was way to peppery. And mixed with the vegetables it got to much. If the vegetables did not have pepper seasoned on them it whoud been so much better. The steak is the best steak I have ever tasted. It was very tender, and alot of flavour. I had an medium steak, and it was perfect. The dish was an strong 9/10, and the steak alone was easy 10/10.
The creme brulee was very good. I liked that it was in a bigger jar, and thinner than most other brulee's. It made more of the burned caramelization. Served with fresh berries. Very nice!
I loved my time at the Olive Kitchen & Bar. Would...
