When we arrived a few minutes after the time of our reservation, we were greeted by getting an earful from the waiter and ordered to wait at the door for him to be ready to check our corona passes. We waited for five minutes and were relegated to wait like scolded six year olds as apparently none of the other waiters were authorized to check. We were not shown to our table or told there was a coat check, offered any words of welcome or anything to drink. When the last members of our party arrived and we were greeting each other, we were again scolded and ordered to sit down "and could we make it quick!" We waited for quite a while to give our order, again without having being offered anything to drink in the meantime. I waited almost 30 minutes to finally get my draft beer, after having ordered it three times. The food was good. It's a practical choice if you have a mixed company of carnivores and vegetarians. But the service was appallingly poor. We were hushed for laughing to loudly and one guest was shamed for not placing his knife and fork in the correct position on his plate after finishing his meal and therefore inconveniencing the staff. We were there for three hours and paid a pretty penny, but we're left with an impression that we were more of a nuisance than welcome guests. I will certainly not intrude...

I just had an amazing experience at Olive in Copenhagen, and I couldn’t wait to share it!

During our short trip to Copenhagen, we had the pleasure of dining at Olive, and it was an experience worth sharing. Despite calling at the last minute, the manager graciously found us a table, welcoming us with warm hospitality from the moment we stepped inside.

The atmosphere was truly inviting—soft lighting and a cozy ambiance made us feel instantly comfortable. From the start, the staff demonstrated exceptional attentiveness, recommending delicious meals perfect for first-time visitors. Their enthusiasm and hospitality were evident in every interaction.

What stood out most was their personalized service. Each dish was thoughtfully introduced as it arrived at our table, and they genuinely cared about our experience, checking in on our satisfaction throughout the meal. One of the lovely staff members even suggested the perfect glass of wine to complement our dishes, adding an extra touch of thoughtfulness.

From start to finish, everything about Olive exceeded expectations. The impeccable service, warm ambiance, and mouthwatering cuisine made it a dining experience to remember. I wholeheartedly recommend Olive to anyone visiting Copenhagen—it’s a must-visit! A big thank you to the entire team for making our...

We tried the Olive's teasting menu. Starring a salmon tartar, mushroom soup, peppercorn steak and a creme brulee.

The salmon tartar was good, and the advocado sauce even better. Beauty.

The mushroom soup was very good and creamy. But it was maybe a little bit bland, as it was the only two flavours that were standing out. They mentioned some truffle flakes, but did not catch my mouth. But still very good!

The peppercorn steak. Lets start with the pepper sauce, was way to peppery. And mixed with the vegetables it got to much. If the vegetables did not have pepper seasoned on them it whoud been so much better. The steak is the best steak I have ever tasted. It was very tender, and alot of flavour. I had an medium steak, and it was perfect. The dish was an strong 9/10, and the steak alone was easy 10/10.

The creme brulee was very good. I liked that it was in a bigger jar, and thinner than most other brulee's. It made more of the burned caramelization. Served with fresh berries. Very nice!

I loved my time at the Olive Kitchen & Bar. Would...

Popular haunt for many people no doubt, every dish executed well. Not outstanding, a cut below Michelin quality but make no mistake, this was good cooking. Dry rib was tender and fell off the bone, aptly seasoned. Tartare lacked texture but flavours went well together. Mushroom soup was creamy and moreish, but lacked depth and complexity. Peppercorn steak tasted one dimensional; pepper paired with more pepper. Though the pepper sauce was creamy, rich, and flavourful. Creme Brulee was a little runnier than I'd like, pedestrian flavours but done well. Fresh berries are always a plus. Also, the cheese plate portions were massive 😂😂 The cocktails were OUTSTANDING. We ordered a Passionate Lychee and an Old Fashioned. Creative, proper, delicious, and absolutely yummy. Better than most specialty bars we've been to, even! We had an overly bubbly waitress serve us, and I LOVED her energy!! They even gave us gloves to hand eat the ribs. My only true frustration was eating Steak with what felt like a butter knife.

Lovely atmosphere, great food for moderate prices and outstanding staff! This small family operated restaurant is focusing on casual, home cooked food. My wife and I ordered the Olive´s 4 course menu with wine pairing. Everything on the menu tasted delicious! (Norwegian Salmon Tartar, Stuffed Mushroom Caps, Olive´s Signature Steak and French Vanilla Creme Brulee). The food was also presented in a very professional way (see my attached photos). What really makes this dinner memorable was the unique service from the outstanding staff. The young staff were great and very friendly with a cosy and comfy atmosphere. The young lady serving us the wines was just outstanding! We have never experienced so much interesting information about the wine – and she did it with a big smile! This is definitely one of the best restaurants we have visited during our many trips to beautiful Copenhagen. We will be back! Regards Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway.
