Context: Two friends stayed for 6 days in September Temperature ranged from 12-20 degrees during this time.
Pros: Location is good. Convenient walk to København H, Vesterport or Norreport for travellers to/from the airport. Check in staff is pleasant and warm. You get a lot of space compared to the typical Copenhagen hotel. We were able to open multiple large suitcases in the room flat open. Soundproofing of windows are good! Water temperature and pressure are very good. Gets hot and cold very fast. Toilet flush is decent for European hotel. There were heating panels in the bathroom, living room and a heater next to the bed, which would be good in winter months. All TVs have smart functions for casting from your tech device. There were two tvs in our ‘superior apartment’ of 46 square feet. Great for multiple forms of entertainment or work. They gave 4 extra toilet rolls so you don’t have to worry about using it up mid-business. They provide hand wash, hand lotion, shampoo and body wash for the toilet. They also provide dishwashing liquid in the kitchen.
Cons(ish): Cleaning once every 4 days, and the cleaning lady is very haphazard about the cleaning. It’s dubious at best by typical global hotel standards, but perfectly normal (still fairly gross) by usual European standards. Examples include water stains on many things (glasses, utensils, counter tops), dust on plates and sometimes a little bit of bread crust/crumbs on things such as toaster plate in microwave oven. If you’re observant about hygiene standards, this is something to consider. Water boiler was extremely dirty (it was concerning) because it was full of scale and clearly looked like it hadn’t been washed for a long time. Though we washed it, a lot of its gunk/scale was still on it because.. it hasn’t been washed before? Unsure. Floor was also dubious and not really clean. Would recommend you to bring your own room slippers if you like to keep your feet bare in a hotel. No air conditioning (so pick the season you stay in wisely.) You can open the windows a little (but not by much because of the security feature.) Depending on your lifestyle and which apartment you’re put in, it could be loud because it’s next to the main road. We stayed in room 155, ‘superior apartment’ which had a lot of space (46 square feet) and was one floor above the main road. It gets loud but it’s also nice to people watch. We close the windows at night before bed because you can get drunk people yelling or ambulance sounds especially on the weekends. In the summer on Saturdays, the tivoli fireworks last for about 15 minutes and while you can’t see them, you’ll hear them quite loudly at 1130pm. If you close all the windows in summer, the air gets stuffy and still. If you leave one window open by the courtyard, you’ll be potentially woken up by the staff / workers discussing things or smoking in the morning. Unlike typical aparthotels, you must do all your dishes and clean up the kitchen area (or there will be a fee, which was implied.) Toilet sink area had a LOT of problems (water was always backed up) so we had to use the kitchen sink to brush our teeth. If you’re below 173-175cm or have short arms, reaching up to the wardrobe is a little challenging. The wardrobe hangers in our room were at a height of approximately 190-195cm. It was similar for the shower caddy area. I am 170cm and had to tip toe to reach the hangers in the closet. Lights are not strategically placed so it can seem a little dark at the places that need it the most (example in front of the wardrobe, so we had to use a...

reception (not customer friendly at all) 5% of the hotels rooms which should not be rented out when parties take places in the club (1rst floor, rooms 101 to 106)
Explanations here:
My gf and I stayed there for 4 nights (around 1000kr/night). I have too say that I have been very disapointed to some regards. I have been always used to travel the cheapest way: youth hostels, campings, cheap hotel, couchsurfing, but this time I wanted something confortable, zen, relax and trendy, so I was up to pay more than usual.
At the first place I enjoyed to see that the stylish decoration was of the same standard as introduced on their website. The room was clean, and luckily it was designed by an artist that I really like (Geneviève Gauckler).
Then the first night came: it was just horrible, we could not sleep before 2 or 3am cause of a loud music played in a party held just downstairs. I must mention here that the Hotel Fox is owning a club which is located on the first floor (actually half basement, typical of the city there). Our room was just above that. We had the same disagreement the night just after. That time the music didn't stop til almost 4am (whereas it's stated that the club closes at 2am).
Naturally we complained that night and complained again the morning after to who it seemed to be the woman managing the hotel. This is where I felt to be really spoiled. I understood that they knew the problem from the begining but just didn't care at all. We were just told that it was quite common in Copenghaguen night's life and they barely said that they were sorry, nor proposed to lower our bill....When I say that the music was loud: I could feel the vibes of the basses in my feet when lying on our thick bed (so not standing up on the floor)...
The last 2 nights were ok, for a simple reason: no party.
One more thing to complain about: the woman managing the hotel is not friendly at all. She was just rude. It doesn't hurt to say some nice words to welcome people sometime...
Eventually what I really disliked was to be considered as cashmachine. This is really a feeling I hate.
So if you don't mind being welcomed just as a walking MasterCard and if you can avoid the rooms just above the club (I think it concerns 4 or 5 rooms out of the 61 of the hotel: from 101 to 106 I would say), you will have no problem because the hotel is really nicely designed and this what...
Read moreThe hotel SP34 is well located near downtown of Copenhagen, just between Central Station and Norreport metro/train station, but from here you can reach the most famous spots of the city on foot or by bike. The basic rooms are very little (probably smaller than you can image) but very bright, quiet, with a comfortable bed and they would be cozy too… if only they were not a bit dusty and with some cobweb in corners, so take a good look at the cleaning! The bathroom amenities are very very poor: if you plan to stay here remember to bring from home cotton buds, cotton pads, shower cap, toothpaste and brush etc. SP34 only offer three little sampler of shampoo + shower gel + body moisturizing even if you are two people in the room, they call this “being conscious” but sounds “being miser”. There’s no bidet, or bidet-shower (health faucet) for your personal hygiene, it means that you’ll take more shower in a day wrapped in a plastic sheet, leaving the floor completely wet because there’s no shower box here. The breakfast hall, in the underground, is a really nice place where they serve a good varied cold organic breakfast (all very good except the terrible and soft industrial frozen croissant). If you wish a warm plate like scrambled eggs and bacon you’ll pay an extra, even if your booking includes breakfast. There’s no a real reception here, the bar and the reception are the same place with only one staff member at service following all bar costumers and hotel guests. Yes, receptionists are also bartenders and vice versa: it means that they’re not as good as receptionist neither as bartenders. It happens that you wait long time before being considered by a receptionist who is preparing cocktail for someone else; it happens that the cocktail you ordered will be a personal bartender reinterpretation of the classics as our Aperol Spritz (on the bar menu) has been prepared with rosé cava and tonic water instead of dry white wine and soda water; it also happen that the bartender/receptionist will call you at the counter snapping his finger… they call it “friendly” but sounds “rude”. In our opinion SP34 looks a lot more like a hype and expensive hostel rather than a real boutique hotel. After several stays in this beautiful city, we can say that in the same area there are many other hotels, more honest, whose similar prices better matches to the...
