L’Aceretta Eatery — Restaurant in Higüey

L’Aceretta is one of our favourite restaurants in the Los Corales area.

We have eaten in the restaurant several times AND enjoyed a chef-cooked meal in our own apartment.

First, the restaurant: it’s a nice spot quite close to our apartment, and the food is really fresh—the pasta is made in-house, so it’s tender and perfectly al dente. We have enjoyed numerous pasta dishes and they are all good, but the seafood ravioli is to die for! I also highly recommend the bolognaise pasta or lasagna—so flavourful! We find this restaurant very affordable, particularly on 2 for 1 pasta nights (Thursday and Sunday). There is plenty on the menu besides pasta to explore, though!

The owner Frank is also available to come to your home and cook for you and your guests, and we enjoyed a wonderful abundance of Asian food the evening we did this. Frank proposed a menu and we tweaked it just a bit due to allergies and preferences. Frank brought EVERYTHING including dishes and cutlery, and our kitchen was spotless when he left. Whether you want a private dining experience or just don’t want to leave the house, we highly recommend the private dining option! We chose an Asian theme, but Frank offers several choices of cuisine. There was enough food that we leftovers for lunch the next day.

If you want a very good Italian experience this is the place to go. We love the relaxed atmosphere. We love the fresh made pasta noodles and sauces. This makes it an experience! Relax and enjoy a drink or cocktail and expect to spend 1 to 1 1/2 hours there because everything is fresh made. We've been there numerous times and have had numerous pastas and wife loves the eggplant parm. Owners are amazing and make everyone feel welcome and the staff works hard to keep everyone happy. An extra is that Thursday & Sunday are buy one get one deals and always requires reservations because of word of mouth and the regulars like us.

We also brought my son who is picky about Italian and we were pleasantly surprised he loved it and wants to go back next trip.

Just remember food is very good, fresh made and makes the wait worth i/ ...

Some of you may remember this location as Lorenzos. Earlier this year a wonderful couple, Frank and Gillian bought the restaurant and renamed it to L'Aceretta. They have done some beautiful updates but kept the menu the same. This is by far the best Italian food we have ever had. The Chicken Parm and the Lasagna are our just a few of our favorites. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with seating inside and out. The new staff, Oscar and Miranda gave us the best service!! Always smilling and very attentive. Great place for a romantic night out or for a big family dinner. We have done both. Can't wait to go...
