Locos X El Cerdo — Restaurant in Higüey

Terrible, We were approached by a very excited waitress who was showing us all the stuff they offered and the menu and so eventually we decided to have a seat and ordered some food and drinks. We ordered water with our food and Only sandwiches. 1 minute after ordering I asked if I could get the salad instead and she said she had already placed the order for the sandwich now this would be understandable if I was going to get my sandwich in the next 10 minutes or so and they were already making it but we didnt get food or another visit from this terrible waitress for 40 minutes. Also when my sandwich arrived I did not get fries with mine and my friend did. We say at this table for 40 minutes with no drinks and no idea when the food was coming. This meal was $31 for 2 sandwiches and 2 bottles of water I will never eat here again.

The food was just okay and its kinda sad because if she had visited the table and brought the water I would have ordered more water because it was so long. I would not recommend this place look elsewhere.

We ordered the mofongo and the yuca, the meat in the mofongo was so overcooked and the yuca showed up a half hour after we got the mofongo. When we got the check, my husband checked the wallet to see if we had any cash on us, but we only had about $60 and wanted to save it for tips, so we gave the waiter our card and he took it inside. The waiter comes back and said that he tried our card twice and was denied and asked for us to pay in cash (we have never had our card denied anywhere, and we travel A LOT), so my husband went to the counter so he could actually see the waiter trying our card and he admitted that he never tried the card, he just wanted our cash. We accidentally saw an advertising brochure for this restaurant at the checkout of the store and went to have dinner here. The food was very tasty and the waiter guy served at the level of a high-level European restaurant and the chef came out to us and asked if we liked it. It was a pleasure! They are great fellows! We returned several times to this place for dinner during our holiday...
