The view is ok and the place is quite nice I have to admit, it is cosy.
But it is the point of going to the restaurant ? Is it only the view and the Cosy place ?
The answer is definitely No.
The service was terrible, we’ve waited for the drinks order almost 15 min after we were seated and we had to call the waiter, it was not his intention to come by. We tried the pizzas, unfortunately we’ve waited 30 more minutes, and they forgot one, my gf had to eat alone, and I waited 35 more minutes to receive mine. The pizzas were tasty (if I wanted to be rude I could say that they were not pizza at all, but it was tasty)
During this time we ordered 2 mojitos, we had to ask for them once after around 25/30 minutes too.
The place is nice, we’re both work in the industry of hospitality in Europe, we know how it works, sadly the organisation of the service and cuisine are clearly not on point, even though you have a bill 3 times more expensive than others places in Quito. I can understand any issues you can encounter during a service but this is beyond « having issues during the service ».
Finally, we hoped for a gesture, or anything that could maybe just make the evening nicer.
2 pizzas, 2 mojitos, 2 small beers : 40$
That’s it. No more...
Read moreThe place is beautiful, the service was fine (though I came at a time there was no one else there so maybe that's not indicative). The food is served very aesthetically, with professional touch and attention to detail both in substance and appearance of the dishes served. So far so good. The problem, that ruined everything for me - was that I got an AWFUL CASE OF FOOD POISONING from the guinea pig (cuy). Reading other reviews here I saw another person who said the same a year ago. It seems like the restaurant staff don't read the reviews or don't learn from them. Its a shame for such a beautiful place that does make an effort to provide great cuisine. They may have other dishes which are excellent however, bottom line - puking my guts out and nearly fainting a few hours later, this place I would...
Read moreWe ate on the rooftop overlooking the city with a great ambiance. We got a pitcher of a hot fruity traditional alcoholic drink and two traditional meals. The guinea pig was surprisingly delicious, and the pork was delicious with traditional corn and platano and a really good salad. They gave us a menu in English and our server Jorge even spoke English and was super nice and explained the dishes. strongly recommend this place to anyone traveling in Quito who wants to try traditional foods. The Miami Herald identified it as the only local restaurant where you can try all three traditional foods: guinea pig, traditional...
