Juan Valdez — Restaurant in Iñaquito

It is very true that their coffee tastes amazing. It has a wonderful full flavor without being too aggressively strong. We really enjoyed our morning cap there. It is basically a Starbucks of Quito, but tastes better…and I love Starbucks….  The coffee shop that we visited has a sitting area inside and outside. Their outside terrace is divided into two sections, smoking and non-smoking. It was one of the two times during our entire stay in Quito (for over two weeks) that we encountered smokers at a restaurant/café. Also, a couple of people sitting in the non-smoking part of the outside area still pulled out their cigarettes…I did not care for that, but we did not make any comments. Popular coffee shop in Quito with many locations. However the service and quality of coffee/desserts are way below the standard of Sweet & Coffee.

Been to 2 other competitors and never any issue with the name, but at Juan Valdez waited, heard a name called once, then again about 2 min later...just by chance decided to get up and go to check and it was that the put the name wrong. Definitely a nice atmosphere and decor inside but unfortunately much better...

Great place to enjoy a good cup of coffee or something with your friends or just work there is a quiet place with good service and a nice menu from pastries to sandwiches or meal combos. Just the cleaning of the tables I think they could improve because sometimes there's many trays on the tables and you don't know where to put them or who must take them.
