If you are looking for the kind of Chinese place that Chinese people eat in, this is it. They have an extensive menu, and an exclusive Chinese menu, so if you are able to order in Chinese you can have your pick from an exclusive selection of authentic dishes. The average cost per person for a meal per person including beverages and entrees is about $15. Please be patient and kind with the staff, they aren’t fluent in Spanish or English but they try! Also if you are going in a large group and need separate checks, request so in advance when ordering. Fair warning, the dishes are meant to share so they are quite large, specially the chaulafan. Recommended: fries are incredible, pot stickers or “raviores”, beef noodles, black mushroom salad.

I had a terrible experience here. I was checking the dishes on the Spanish menu. The host came and said I’m reading a wrong one, grabbed away the Spanish menu and gave me a Chinese one. However, the price on the Chinese one is 20% more expensive than the Spanish one. I asked the host why the price on the Chinese menu is more expensive. He said the Spanish version are all small dishes (who knows?). And asked me “Did you just came to Quito?” I did not feel comfortable and left. I don’t know the taste here but the host is unfriendly and charges different prices for a same dish on different menus.

Please be alert: this restaurant has different menus for Spanish speakers and Chinese, and price is different. A bowl of rice costs 2 dollars which we’re very surprised (yes, we know it’s La Carolina, but it’s Ecuador, Not US). The owner kept asking us: are you new comers? Why does that matter? He sounds absolutely arrogant and behaved that we didn’t understand the rules.

Yes, your food is overpriced. We live in Silicon Valley and no rice will...
