Fun place. The food is OK, it aspires to be a gourmet quality, the menu is quite good and the offering is quite creative and sounds great. But the execution quality is very spotty. Some dishes were spot on, while others were extremely disappointing. Frankly the warm break in the beginning was the culinary highlight. The sushi is laughable mori sushi style sizes and quality, half of the food was underseasoned. My favorites were the fried chicken bites and fried shrimp bites, which are usually the go to in unsophisticated kitchens, but its a pitty because if the food excecution matches the sophistication of the menu it would be a perfect experiance.
Having said that the food is still quite good and edible, it is just not an experiance and therefore not 5 star worthy.
The mood and setting makes up for where the food lacks. The venue is nice and tasteful. If you want a loud clubish experiance go on the weekends, otherwise stick to the weekdays and/or leave early.
Music was OK, but some segments were terrible, they really need to change the DJ. It is like the food, everything is great, but the excecution was lacking.
Service was very good, they could use an extra 1 or 2 waiters.
While I generally would love to see a food quality upgrade (to match the setting), it is still on my gouna...
Read moreMe and my niece went to Villa coconut in the weekend and got severe food poisoning from the food we ate there. First of all we were told we could sit at a table to eat and after we would be placed at the bar, because it would be full tonight, which it was not. We ordered starters and both a main course, the starters tasted fine but the main course was disgusting, my steak was still rare. we both didn’t eat any of it. When they came to ask us we told them, but they didn’t care or came with a solution, didn’t offer us something else or removed it from the bill. Me working as a Souschef, i was literally shocked how they handled the situation. We stayed to have drinks at the bar, when lots of tables were empty, so I don’t understand why they were making a problem out of it and didn’t let us stay at the table. We payed more than 200 euros for 2 persons, and didn’t eat anything, so it was a waste of money and our time, a shame because the restaurant looks really nice for el gouna. The day after we spend the whole day inside our room because we were nauseous and ill, even had to get medicine from...
Read moreWe had an absolutely wonderful Friday night at Villa Coconut in El Gouna! The food was nothing short of exquisite — we started with a mix of hot appetizers and mocktails, and then enjoyed several mains: the Angus beef, shrimp coconut, South African veal, and hot honey chicken. Each dish was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented.
The ambiance was outstanding — earlier in the evening it felt calm and aesthetic with great music, and later it shifted into a lively, vibrant atmosphere with upbeat energy, which made the night even more memorable.
Service was exceptional. A special thank you to Tarek, the manager, who was incredibly welcoming, kind and accommodating. Our waiter, Abdullah, took care of our table with warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism. We also deeply appreciated Darin and Mostafa from the guest relations/reservations team, who were so friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived.
