A unique sensory experience. The restaurant is in Kafr, Downtown of El Gouna. To arrive inside the restaurant you will pass through a series of flower-decorated arches, a great place to take selfies for friends, family, and social profiles. The atmosphere is warm and colored. It has a private beach. Nice environment for a romantic dinner. If you want to savor and delight the essence of the platter, it must be little, remember, less is more. I ordered Gnocchi al pomodoro a simple platter that can tell you everything about the philosophy of the chef. When I took the first bite the consistent was so perfect that it melted on my palate, for a moment I was transported into my grandmother's kitchen during my childhood when she used to make it at home for me. My son ordered Caprese with bufala, the visual looked amazing and the taste was a level up. He likes to take a piece of tomato then put on the top one piece of bufala, to complete two drops of balsamic vinegar. Unbelievable sensation in your mouth. We decided to order Tartare of manzo. My father taught me how to love raw meat. I used to sit on his knees, then he would say: close your eyes, open your mouth, and gently let the tartare slide on your tongue, now close your mouth and lift the meat on the palate and taste with all your sense buds the magnificence of all the ingredients. It was a unique experience. Then we decided to order a Carpaccio, another great choice. The slices were thin as they must be. Rucola had big green leaves, great wonderful things to look at, the taste was pinching to the right spot, a real rocket. After the Carpaccio, we decided to order one more Tartare of manzo and we crave to try the Tuna Tartare. We got nuts when we tried we felt like in paradise, on the top was a fresh tartare of mangoes that gives to the bites sweetness mixed with the sea flavor of the tuna. Last but not least, we ordered fresh-squeezed orange juice. We waited for a bit and the waitress said that they went out of oranges so he sent a person to buy some oranges to make it for us. This is a rare way to care about a client. Highly recommended to Italians because you will feel like at home and to all the others because you will eat...
Read moreThe place looked pretty empty most of the time from our view from the hotel on the other side of the water. It's pretty hard to find from the street, hidden away and without advertisement. Therefore we didn't go here until another restaurant didn't have a free table. Man, looks can be deceiving. If we'd known how good it was, we would've gone here every evening of our holiday.
The quiet ambience on the beach is actually pretty nice compared to the busy downtown restaurants. The staff are lovely, so friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. For dinner, we had bruschetta for starters and pasta for mains. My pasta, tagliatelle alla salsiccia, was one of the best pastas I've ever eaten. It was so good, we just went back to have it again for lunch. If we decide to have our final dinner in El Gouna at this place tomorrow night, I might order it again. Their homemade desserts are nice as well! Even the stray cat that chills here (Rox) is nice.
Go to this place instead of the Italian restaurant on the downtown "strip", you'll get better food and better service (for less).
Edit: 2nd dinner, 3rd meal. Still amazing. I ordered the same pasta again. Sadly I didn't get the recipe when I asked for...
Read moreBeautiful scenery to sit next to the lagoon (try to make it before sunset.. it’s gorgeous)
The food was good overall but was let down by a general lack of seasoning -
Appetizers: The fried calamari was crispy but lacked seasoning… the three dips (sweet chili, tartar-style mayo and mustard) were fun to have!
The burrata salad was fresh and generous in portion - I wish their pesto was a bit more seasoned.
Mains: Friends tried the bolognese and cordon bleu style chicken which seemed generous in portion and flavors
The prosciutto and mushroom pizza was delicious! Wholesome and rich in flavor and the prosciutto was so decadent!
The spinach ravioli was below expectations even though there’s a huge hype about it - maybe just our dish completely lacked seasoning. Even now looking at other reviewer’s pics, ours seems very bland in contrast…
And finally the diavola pizza is a must try - it’s spicy and had wonderfully satisfying flavor! Also their pizza crusts are fluffy at the crust and just right!
I’d definitely try it again - I’m hoping our luck with the lack of seasoning was a...
