Just returned from 12 nights at this hotel. All in all we had a really good time. Luckily for us there wasnt many children , if any, whilst we stayed there so it did seem like an adult only hotel👍. This review is my opinion.|We booked this hotel after having a bereavement in the family so we were just looking for a small quiet hotel to just relax , in our favourite destination. A destination we have been to 39 times.|Arrived about 11pm and was greeted warmly by reception, then shown to our room, 322 lagoon view , initially it seemed fine, next morning , well lets just say it had definatly seen better days. What can I say about the bathroom especially the shower......scolding hot or freezing cold just couldnt get it to remain at a constant temp, as previous reviews have mentioned the water pressure is minimal. Balcony door wouldnt open easily and was causing a dent in the floor from forcing it open. First few nights were quiet then music so loud the room vibrated until 03:30, a club very close by was celebrating the end of Ramadan. This went on for 2 nights. After the second sleepless night we spoke to the new manager who kindly helped us to change rooms. |Room 2: 208pool view ,exactly the same problem with the shower but the decor of the room was much better.Room wasnt cleaned on one occasion .Had an issue with bath towels but this was noted by a member of management so I wont go into details. Peaceful nights sleep after the change of room.👍 Rooms have everything you need. Fridge contents are at extra charge but to store milk etc it was perfect, good temperature.|Food/drinks, something to note, guests are given 2 small bottles of water daily any more and it has to be purchased, alternatively coolers are avaliable to refill bottles. Just not appealing to me. In general drinks are fine, wine is typical Egyptian, no issues with that at all👍, Gin & Tonics are fine can definately say we had no issues with them 👍cocktails are hit n miss, some included in AI others are at charge,Mojito has to be paid for and to be truthful wasnt worth paying for. Food, didnt use the pool bar for food but what we saw did look good, we prefered to get out of the sun and cool off in the air conditioned buffet restaurant. Breakfast was gorgeous, by far our favourite meal, lots of choices, omelettes and the lovely bread👍. Lunch ,ok, evening meal, hmmmmmm, this lets the hotel down. If you like spicy food you will be fine, just no other options of non spicy food👎👎. A couple of nights I just had soup and the delicious bread. PLEASE stop adding pepper, chillis etc to every dish. My favourite deserts were om ali , best om ali we have EVER had👍, and the madeira cakes.|Area: the area around the hotel is brilliant, lovely and relaxing to have a front row sunlounger looking out across the lagoon. The beach and pool areas are fabulous and beautifully clean. No drinks waiter service but its no problem going to the bar. Lots of sunbeds, Recreation guy helps with sunloungers, that is if he sees you !!!!! Entertainment guys were lovely, not pushy at all👍. Evening entertainment in the square was good but finished way to early-9pm👎|90% of the staff at this hotel are outstanding, some of them get a big thankyou :|Andrew and Ahmed on reception👍chocolate lovers.|Joseph -pool bar, evening 👍|Ramez- buffet 👍 madeira cake|Omelette chef 👍 didnt get his name but what a wonderful guy he is.|Mamoud - cleaner in our first room👍|Finally but not least, the new manager John who always stopped for a chat and helped move us to the quiet room. Your kindness was much appreciated. 👍|All in all we managed to have a much needed relax. With a few changes Sultan Bey could rate among the top hotels but these changes need doing sooner rather than later.|As I said at the beginning this review is just my opinion in comparison to the lots of other hotels in Egypt we have stayed in.|Sultan Bey I wish you all best wishes for a succesful 2024 and good luck...
Read moreFrom the moment we arrived at Sultan Bey Hotel, we felt welcomed by the professional and warm staff. Ahmed at the reception and the friendly security team set the tone for a wonderful stay, making the check-in process smooth and easy.
The hotel’s beautiful architecture is breathtaking, from the spacious and clean rooms to the well-maintained grounds. Our room had a wonderful balcony with stunning views, offering the perfect place to relax. The housekeeping team was efficient and incredibly accommodating to our specific needs, ensuring everything was perfect during our stay.
We opted for the all-inclusive package, and the food exceeded our expectations. There was a wide variety of options, and the chefs truly went above and beyond to cater to our preferences. As we prefer vegan and vegetarian meals, the kitchen team offered fresh, delicious options without hesitation. The service staff, including the waiters Roro and Romarez (and many more!), was quick, professional, and always greeted us with a personal and welcoming touch. Special thanks to the wonderful ladies baking fresh bread every day – their warm, delicious creations made every meal feel even more special. One thing that could be a suggestion for improvement is to also offer a non-alcoholic beer in the all inclusive offer.
The amenities were equally impressive. The pool was not only pristine and well-maintained by the pool team but also a great spot to relax. Hanna, Joseph and Samuel (and also many more!), were always there to make sure we were comfortable, providing excellent service by the pool bar. The beach area was also fantastic, with calm and clear waters perfect for swimming, thanks to the hotel’s ideal location that minimizes wind and waves.
A special mention to Rafik Ragy, the assistant manager, who handled an unexpected situation with great professionalism and care, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction were always a priority. His attention to detail and personal follow-up really made us feel valued as guests.
We also appreciated Mohammed, who ran the store at the hotel selling sunscreen, souvenirs and other essentials – his helpfulness added another layer of convenience to our stay.
While I’ve mentioned many names, there were so many other wonderful staff members (and cats!) who made our stay unforgettable. Their energy, warmth, and friendliness will forever follow us in our hearts. I deeply regret not remembering everyone’s name, but I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all of them for their kindness, professionalism, and hard work. Their contributions truly made a difference and it will stay with us for the rest of our lives.
The overall atmosphere of the hotel was calm, personal, and wonderfully relaxing. Whether we were by the pool, on the beach, or simply strolling through the beautifully maintained grounds, we felt at peace. The entire staff, from the gardeners to the builders, cleaners, pool team, waiters, chefs, reception team, and the excursion staff (special thanks to Max and Mohammed, with many more), contributed to making our stay unforgettable.
Would we recommend Sultan Bey Hotel? Absolutely! It’s a paradise. The perfect weather, ideal location, impeccable hotel, and outstanding staff make it a place I would return to without hesitation. This hotel is truly a hidden gem, offering a complete escape with everything you could wish for.
Thank you to everyone at Sultan Bey Hotel for gifting us a...
Read moreHotel room was lovely and staff were polite and helpful. However, I personally feel that what let it down for me was the food. If you’re booking via TUI make sure you confirm that the hotel will cater for you if you are vegan or have any special requirements like allergies etc. ||I stupidly thought that they would cater for everyone and at least have a vegan/vegetarian option at all meal times, but there were no main vegan/vegetarian dishes. So most of the meals consisted of vegetables and salad. |It is a very meat and European oriented restaurant. The restaurant doesn’t have 2 sittings, so at 7pm it’s a free for all. If you go later there is a really good chance you won’t get a table until after 8pm. Some night and only a few, some of the dishes hadn’t been replenished and not everything was labeled. ||The TUI rep is actually a local agent who doesn’t speak very good English and was quite difficult to understand. He didn’t really tell us much about the hotel and what was available locally. I felt he was more intent on signing you up on various trips. Remember that you can still book trips via the TUI app, even when you’re in the resort. Check the prices before you buy with the rep as I found them cheaper on the app. ||You are left by the rep and the hotel to figure things out for yourself. No information about events or welcome pack was given by reception at check in. Information about restaurant times are located on the wall facing the main reception. ||If you fly from the UK check what time your flight gets in. If it’s an afternoon flight then strong probability you’ll get into Egypt after 10pm. Once you’re in your minibus it’s roughly another hour on top but that depends on how many hotel drop off before you. Sultans Bey is one of the last, if not the last hotel to be dropped off. ||We arrived after midnight and once we’d checked in it was nearly 1am, there was no food available as the restaurant closed at 9.30pm their time (currently 2hrs in front of GMT) and I had to ask for drinks/food. I would suggest that when you’re in your departing airport and you have an afternoon flight, you buy food/drink to either have on the plane or in your room. ||There is an ATM in reception where you can apparently insert your currency (notes) to obtain Egyptian currency but I tried this machine several times in a week and it didn’t work. I had to go outside the hotel to use the ATM’s which I didn’t feel very secure in doing so. I would suggest you don’t being a lot of currency as you can’t easily change it, I ended up just using a card. ||Entertainment was good what I saw. ||Unfortunately you have to be up really early if you want a sun-bed. I found that if you tipped staff they took better care of you and put towels out for you, so you didn’t need to get up early. ||The hotel room was lovely and cleaned daily, the grounds and facilities were really good. The pool bar opened at 10am but you had to go to the bar to obtain your drinks. There is a shuttle boat to the main beach but I didn’t use it so cannot comment on this. At the time I was there the English was a minority, however, the holiday was lovely and I would go back to the hotel if I was coming back to...
