After my explorations of many Lebanese restaurants in Cairo, today I choose 'Zaituna Bay'. As I've also mentioned in my previous reviews, we Turks consider Lebanese cuisine to be a kind of mixed Mediterranean cuisine. So we love and prefer it because it is the closest to our palate.
Zaituna Bay is located next to the Nile. A very friendly young lady welcomed me and accompanied me to my table. The appropriate ambience was very discreetly illuminated, which really appealed to me personally. Furnished with natural wood and wicker materials, the seating area invited me to linger comfortably.
The menu offers a very wide range of Lebanese cuisine with Zaituna Bax specialties. I chose "Muhammara" and "Eggplant Fatteh" today. The mezes were served very quickly and the presentation was great. They were also very tasty. Personally, I would only preferred the yoghurt used in Fattah less sour.
Now and unfortunately the most negative impression of the night, which was obvious. !The manager! If I would say he didn’t have !no any! virtues that a good manager should have? He didn’t understand human relations, nor he provides a more peaceful restaurant environment by solving existing problems before escalating. As a customer, I was extremely disturbed by the manager's attitudes, hand gestures, facial and body expressions, and verbal tone towards employees. He was really not at all suitable for ‘Zaituna Bay’ which was created with so much effort and love.
Finally the most positive impression I remember is the very very friendly and sincere welcome of the female host and the courteous young lady who took my order at my table. Thank you very much for doing your work so good and with a magnificent smile.
Also my thanks to the kitchen team for the delicious mezes and finally congrats to the business owners for creating an “oasis” such as the ‘Zaituna Bay’, that fits so perfectly into the peaceful environment on the bank of the peaceful and blessed...
Read moreI frequently went to this restaurant to dine in and watch the Nile, either with local friends or international friends. However, this will be my last time considering this place after one of their staff was terrible regarding hospitality. When I arrived, there were three or four empty tables by the Nile, and only one had a "reserved" sign. When I asked her for one of the other tables, which I usually sit at every time I go there, the girl started lying and making excuses to push us to sit somewhere else next to the stairs, which is not suitable for couples. My American gf didn't come from the USA to sit next to the stairs while everybody is going up and down and I explained that to her by telling her we came for dinner and we gonna leave quickly but she had no common sense of how to treat guests. Also, I'm a regular guest at this place, which makes me a bit disappointed. She has no sense of hospitality or how to lie, because when I called to reserve, she also lied, saying the place was full and that I could wait when I come in to get a table, while it was only 30% or 40% full. Their food is OK, the Hookah is OK, the only reason I might come is the nice location, so learn how to keep your guests, especially the regular guests, before you don't have any. My experience before this time. It was with 3 international friends, and we had Lebanese dinner. The food was fine, and the hookah was good. We spent about...
Read moreThe management is horrible. They asked for 50 pounds for "valet" parking while I parked on my own in front of another restaurant, and when I argued with the management for their parking permit obtained from the government they showed me a permit for 6 cars parking and refused I took a photo of it which is a clear scam, moreover they play all the time khaliji music and when I asked to change it as it is a Lebanese restaurant and also we're Egyptians so either change the music to match the restaurant's theme "Lebanese" or Egyptian music, they refused and told me it's the owner's rules eventhough I checked and he is Egyptian 😏😆 I really don't recommend at all, such pathetic management trying to rob off people by paying exaggerated parking and ignoring customers requests and btw other tables were annoyed by the songs too but meh what are you gonna do! Just don't go!! اصلها مش فهلوة والله 🤷♀️They ruined the nile's view with such horrible music taste!!! However, to be fair, staff inside the restaurant are nice and are doing a good job under...
