Tota – A Mix of Hits and Misses, But I’ll Be Back!
First off, let me say that the customer service here is top-notch. The rep who took my order was friendly, super helpful, and made me feel like my meal was in great hands. With a smile like that, I felt like the food was going to be just as warm and welcoming!
Now, on to the food. I ordered a variety of dishes because, why not? I was in the mood to try a bit of everything. Here’s the breakdown:
• Veggie Tacos: These were tasty, I’ll give them that. But, unfortunately, they showed up a little… soggy. Let’s just say they were as wet as a beach towel after a swim. I had to eat them fast before they turned into veggie soup in a tortilla, but the flavor was on point! • Fish and Chips: Alright, I’ve had a lot of fish and chips in my day, but this was a new one. The batter was so thin, it was like the fish was trying to wear a see-through dress to the party. And, sadly, parts of it were overcooked to the point of becoming fish jerky. On the bright side, the chips were amazing – perfectly crispy, golden, and the highlight of this dish. I almost forgot about the fish! • Seafood Pasta: Now, this is where Tota redeems itself. The seafood pasta was delicious—rich, flavorful, and with just the right amount of sauce. Definitely worth diving into if you’re a pasta lover like me. • Green Salad: Simple but satisfying! It was fresh, crisp, and balanced out the heavier dishes perfectly.
Overall, Tota definitely has potential. They’ve got great customer service and some dishes that hit the mark. Sure, the fish and tacos could use a little tweak (maybe the fish needs a thicker coat, and the tacos need to stay dry), but I’ll definitely be back to give them another shot. It’s all about those little improvements, right? I’ve got faith they’ll nail...
Read moreDefinitely a place to visit. Beautiful interior, nice roof terrace, very friendly staff and owner and most important, great food. We had the taco's (hard&soft), chicken and beef. They were delicious and more so the heavenly Mexican banuelos ( cinnamon puff pastry freshly baked) with homemade dulce de leche ice-cream. We will definitely be back❤️
4 days later The owner Sarah is very hospitable and passionate about her restaurant. So are the chefs that cook with love. We had a pre-celebration for our twins sweet Sixteen. Food was delicious, the pasta cooked al dente the arrabiata with just the right amount of chili, the fish and chips and calamari fresh and well battered the Vietnamese salad rich and flavourful. The girls got their gooey brownies topped with ice cream and Sarah making them into bday cakes with candles on top. So sweet. Tota really is a gem.
4 days later We tried Tota for breakfast ❤️ Nice espresso. The Turkish spicy eggs were really nice both with sausage as beef bacon, the avocado smash was light and creamy. The watermelon juice really great. Once again Tota is great for every moment of the day.
July 2024, 2 years later Tota is even better than it was. Food is amazing, as always. Sara is the best! She really has everything under control and super hospitality minded. Tuesday is open mic. Incredibly talented people, very good vibe. Big fun. Have taco's: beef is the best and don't forget the best brownie ever with their dulce de leche...
Read moreLast night's visit to Tota in Dahab was an experience I'll cherish forever. The highlight of the evening was the open mic event that transformed the place into a hub of creativity and soulful melodies. Talented musicians took to the stage, each adding their unique touch to the night's ambiance. It felt less like a performance and more like a gathering of friends sharing their love for music.
The atmosphere at Tota is quintessentially hippie, brimming with friendliness and warmth. Everyone there, staff and guests alike, seemed to be in a state of pure enjoyment, united by the music. The setting, under the starry sky, added a magical touch to the concert.
What made the evening even more special was the sense of community. We were a large group, yet the staff at Tota made sure we felt included and comfortable. The hospitality was top-notch, with attentive service that never intruded on our experience.
In summary, Tota isn't just a restaurant; it's a place where music, culture, and camaraderie blend beautifully. I recommend it to anyone looking for an evening that's not just about dining but about a rich, cultural experience. If you're in Dahab, don't miss a chance to spend an...
