I walked into El Fogon de Momo on a busy Friday night without reservation due to some miscommunication, one night before departure, however Perter who is the manager stepped in and was able to accommodate me, thankfully! otherwise I would have missed one of my best steak meals I ever had. The place is close to Centro, and on a local street, with nice atmosphere and outside seating. I love steaks and I have dined at many high-end steakhouse restaurants all over the Americas and Europe; I very much enjoyed my 500 gram Ribeye that matches the best and exceeds most of these restaurants. The steak was cooked perfectly and as ordered, over open flame, tender, juicy and rich in flavor; what made this meal is so special is the side the fries, that I believe were fresh cut French fries, that you really can taste potatoes, that no high-end restaurant serves. The prices are beyond reasonable; portions were generous, and I would I can say that I got more for what I paid for! Excellent flavors. I started to order rare, they recommended medium rare. It was exactly how I wanted. I purchased a tomahawk (one of the top cuts), sautéed mushrooms, sweetbread, and a bottle of wine for myself. For my single person experience, the total could be $58.000+, depending on your wine. The waiting staff was able to speak english, which I really appreciated. In the 'fine dinning' that I'm accustomed to (coming from American restaurants), the staff will describe the dishes in detail and make a recommendation. I could have used more descriptions, but he did recommend a cut of meat I was happy with and the service was prompt. The appetizer was phenominal. First, sweeetbread is not bread, it is the thymus or essentially throat cuts of meat that are served with lemon. So delicious, que Rico. I left very full and had about 5 glasses of wine. If you came here for a date or looking for a restaurant with ambience - this restaurant offers this.

well priced steakhouse where they cut the meat in front of you. although the doneness was a little questionable (we ordered med rare and got more on rare side) the steaks were well seasoned and tasty overall. the sides were delicious as well and paired with the steaks. appreciated the complementary aperitif! steaks ordered: colita de cuadril (rump steak), strip loin, rib eye risotto al carmenere: pretty good dish, don’t remember much bread: tasty and so fluffy

Quando chegamos, olhamos o cardápio e escolhemos uma carne pela foto do cardápio. Perguntamos ao garçom se a carne tinha gordura, porque gostamos de carne gorda. Ele disse que seria melhor trocar o pedido pois a carne que escolhemos era magra. Aceitamos a sugestão e trocamos o corte. Quando a carne chegou, estava extremamente seca, sem gordura alguma. Chamamos o garçom para reclamar e ele falou que era óbvio que a carne estava sem gordura pois escolhemos um corte magro. Ficamos sem entender absolutamente nada! Após, pedimos a conta e reclamamos para a garçonete que veio nos atender. Ela disse que se quisessemos uma carne gorda, não era pra escolher a carne que escolhemos (mas foi o próprio garçom que nos sugeriu quando pedimos uma carne gorda). Resolvemos não pagar os 10 por cento por este mal entendido que prejudicou muito nossa experiência. No entanto, parece que a garçonete odiou isso e nos tratou muito mal depois. Ela fez a gente ficar se sentindo mal por um erro que eles cometeram. Ah, e não foi falha na comunicação, fomos bem claras. No restante, a entrada é muito boa! O atendimento foi bem cordial até então e o ambiente é uma graça. Pedimos dois drinks, carne e acompanhamento e a conta ficou em torno de 50.000 pesos chilenos.

Este lugar sin dudas es de excelencia. Comenzando por la ambientación. Cuando entras te salta la vista está maravillosamente decorado con muchos artefactos y antigüedades. Un buen gusto, un diseño de maderas y carteles. La verdad es muy agradable entrar en el local. La comida es excelente. En verdad uno disfruta de sabores muy deliciosos. La verdad hemos ido un par de veces y no defrauda yo recomendaría el matahambre de la pizza pero otro plato como el risotto el filete estaba muy rico. La atención por parte del personal es súper buena un punto negativo, es que no tienen carta física y la verdad, aunque la carta digital es un sitio que carga bastante rápido. Creo que se ayuda mucho más al comenzar con una carta que pueda leer y ver todos los platos a la vez, regresando al personal que te atiende tuvieron cientos detalles que la verdad marcan la diferencia como preguntar si el punto de cocción de la carne estaba a gusto cuando la trajeron, esto en otros lugares no se ve a menudo. En fin, recomiendo encarecidamente lugar bonito buena comida, ideal para ocasiones especiales.

3/15/19 Super bad service, 4 people attempted to take our order...disorganized..we did not received our ordered dishes...rating dropped to 2*. It looks like another restaurant going bad after creating a following. Sad. I would wish to turn back time to Sr. Momo several years ago..... Very good beef and super affordable prices. Vine list might be better a bit!
