This past weekend, my husband and I visited a popular bar/restaurant in downtown St. Petersburg, renowned for its gourmet and creative burger menu. Despite the definite bar vibe, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home. We were greeted immediately with waters and menus, and our server, Marina, was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and on top of everything, even as the place filled up quickly for lunch. The menu was a burger lover’s dream, with so many unique options it was tough to choose. We started by splitting their famous corn dog as an appetizer, featuring an all-beef Vienna sausage encased in a perfectly crispy coating. It came with house-made sauerkraut, which was a standout—balanced, not too sour, and with just the right amount of texture. Easily some of the best I’ve had! For our mains, my husband went with the Black and Blue burger, and it was a hit. Loaded with bacon, blue cheese dressing, crumbles, and a kick of Frank’s hot sauce, he called it phenomenal. His side of tater tots was crispy perfection, though fries and sweet potato fries were also tempting options. I opted for the Demigod—caramelized onions (done just right), sautéed mushrooms, three cheeses, and horseradish mayo. It was good, but after sneaking a bite of his, I’ll admit he won! My burger came with a house-made cucumber and tomato salad, which was fresh and a nice nod to healthy eating. That said, it could’ve used a bit more dressing or some marination time to elevate the flavors. Overall, the food was outstanding, the service was top-notch, and the vibe was spot-on. If you’re in St. Pete and craving a burger that’s unique and delicious, this place should be added to the list! It’s really a 4.5 for the service, burgers and corndog;)

The Burger That Put Out My Hunger Fire** If there’s one thing Engine 9 knows, it's how to fight fires—especially the raging inferno that was my appetite. Walking into Engine 9, I wasn’t just hungry; I was a five-alarm disaster waiting to happen. And the burger? It showed up like a firefighter, ready to rescue my taste buds. I ordered their Black Flag burger, and let me tell you, it arrived looking like it had been built by a team of burger engineers. The bun? Soft as a fireman’s Dalmatian. The patty? Juicy enough to extinguish the drought in California. And the cheese? Melted like it had been hit with the heat of a thousand grills. But let’s talk about that smoky, flame-grilled flavor. It was as if the burger had taken a field trip to the nearest fire station and been personally kissed by the flames. Every bite had me wondering if I should be calling 911—because this thing was criminally good. The toppings were on fire acme took the burger to whole new level. By the time I was done, my hunger had been so thoroughly extinguished that all that was left was the satisfied sizzle of a job well done. Engine 9, you’ve turned burger-making into a heroic act. In conclusion, Five stars, ten extinguishers, and a whole lot of respect.

Engine number 9 has more of a bar feel than restaurant, particularly if you're bringing family. All the servers were very nice and helpful. Good beer and wine selection. I ordered the engine number 9 dog, which has bacon and cheddar cheese with sauteed onions and mushrooms on it. Very good tasting, though the cheddar cheese and bacon overwhelmed the flavor of the dog itself. I suggest a plain dog with whatever condiments you prefer, as the dog had a very good taste when it came through the cheddar and bacon. My wife ordered a Beyond Burger with the cucumber salad. She said the salad and hamburger were fairly plain tasting and the burger kept falling apart as she tried to eat it. The bun seemed overly soft and crumbly. We also ordered the porcini and truffle ravioli with vodka sauce. This was good but not something that would draw me back. Lacked a true truffle flavor. We ordered chicken tenders and fries for the grandson and he seemed happy with these. Private TV screens at most of the tables, with most of them functional. Overall a decent experience but nothing that would necessarily draw me back. I suggest this place for a good hang out with friends.

Corner sports bar with the best burgers in town. Service is average sports bar service as is the environment, at least in the bar area (did not peak in the back part). I began with the duck wings. Love duck wings. These were average and if breaded fresh in house, they still tasted like frozen duck wings. The house made sauces were really good though and ended up as the highlight to the dish versus the perfect topper. Then went with a Resurrection Burger topped with fresh blue cheese, bacon, garlic, jalepeno, thai chili, and mashed habanero. The Burger was a perfect medium rare per my request and was clearly fresh beef and all fresh toppings. Will be hard to try something different next visit as this burger was pure joy with just the right kick. The biggest disappointment though are the sides. We t with tots which were just tots. But only did that since the fries are frozen and not fresh cut in house. 5 star burgers, but fresh house cut fries would keep me coming back even more often. If around the area and seeking an amazing burger, this is it!

Order: 10 Sriracha Crusted Hot Wings Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, your favorite wing-men are back! After roughly a year off (This company has great PTO!), we come at you with a review from Engine No. 9. This place is tucked off the main drag of St. Pete and is known for their unique burgers and wings. This place does offer ducks wings, but we had to stick with the traditional chicken wing. These wings were marinated then golden fried & tossed with sriracha & voodoo hot sauce. They were served with a delectable blue cheese, which brought the experience together. Upon biting into these tasty treasures, I was surprised. They really were not that hot, but had more of a sweetness to them with a slight kick at the end. They definitely #RespectTheCrisp and were well-sauced, but lacked the spice we come to expect. For this, we give these a respectable 7.9. I would definitely order again, but could have gone for a hotter wing. Check all of our reviews at thewinghub.com @thewinghub on Instagram @thewinghub1 on Facebook

Came here with my husband. I got the GOAT burger (goat cheese, roasted red peppers and balsamic). It was good, but bottom bun got soggy from balsamic. Sweet potato fries were tasty. Ketchup tasted sweet? Like they added something? Husband got ‘The Heartattack’ burger. Tbh, it was way too much to the point of being unenjoyable. Cheese, bacon, eggs….We’d rather have a clean, classic staple burger with high-quality ingredients. We got wings as an appetizer. Very solid wings! Crispy, hot & fresh. Overall we were pretty underwhelmed with the burgers (their main “thing”). We are more smashburger people, with clean straightforward ingredients. These are more traditional, thick burgers. No simple cheeseburger on the menu (altho I’m sure you could ask) ; a lot of toppings on all on menu, which is sort of fun but just too much for our preferences. Service was fantastic. Waitress was quick & polite. Overall it was OK but nothing mind-blowing (basing off of just the food itself).
