We were walking up Central Avenue looking for a place to eat and found the German Knodle. I have family that lives in Germany, so I’m always on the lookout for a good German restaurant in town. We had to give this place a try. We were seated right away by the owner, she was so friendly! I even got it practice my German with her.
We chose to sit outside and enjoy the wonderful weather. The place is simply decorated, but has delicious food. I tried their ‘Vienna Schnitzel’ and it was delicious. My fiancé tried their ‘Jager Schnitzel’ and thoroughly enjoyed it. We both tried their potato salad as a side, and it was delicious. We loved the raw onion in there! We enjoyed some German beer along side our meal.
The service was quick and friendly. The place was super clean too. The next time we’re in St. Pete we will definitely be back. Highly recommend the German Knodle as a place to enjoy some good German food and...

I’ve got to say it is the BEST representation of authentic German street food this Foodie has found locally.
The schnitzel was crisp, oh so tender, full of flavor and HUGE! Pair it w the twice cooked French fries - they are great!
I went deep into Germany 🇩🇪 w the currywurst. It came w a great helping of homemade sauerkraut that was mild and just crunchy enough to balance the red light curry flavors.
Dessert brought the restaurant namesake - the German Knödle. Think of it as a crepe batter rolled into a baseball and stuffed w apple or Nutella or fruit & cheese. WOW!
Just come over - your stomach will love you for it!!! And the Leftovers will take your taste buds right back...
Read moreHubs and I restaurant hopped last night at four places on central. At each we ordered at least one plate. Here we ordered the weisswurst and currywurst with sides of saurkraut and potato salad. My hubs used to live in Germany so was really keen to try this place. The weisswurst was very good and for this we'd return. It is cooked on a grill not the traditional in water but I liked this even better and they take the time to tell you that before you order. Service was a little slow, it seemed like they had a single person servicing all tables so we didn't mind and in general it was a beautiful night to sit outside. Only downside here was a table right next to us was continously smoking and we never care for that but I think we could have moved and didn't so...
